Patch 1.3.4 - Still no random events

Well, title says it all.
They had random events working, then a patch and it was not working anymore. Now, after quite a long time they released a tiny patch that should fix it (actually, just turn something back), but it does not. I mean, what is with this studio?
I was already very disappointed with the way they communicate (forgiving the huge amount of bugs), but with this latest patch, that took them ages and delivered nothing, they lost all my trust.

Warhorse, you are becoming a joke like this. What are you doing?

Hey, but at least we got Ansel and Shadowplay that works, sometimes!!..Kinda.

Seriously I can’t remember the game with THAT amount of bugs, now when I’m thinking about it I’m starting to believe that Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines was optmized quite good compared to that :smiley:

Some people are reporting they’ve had random encounters. I’m playing KCD shortly. I’m finally, after restarting last night, past the intro and now I can free roam. I’ll post some results late reply on. Bummer though… hoped this patch would have fixed it. I couldn’t care less about Ansel and shadowing.

Random encounters were not working for me on games started after 1.3. I’ve decided to go all in and have reinstalled the whole game. Will try a new game today and provide feedback. On the whole though, this is pretty disappointing. This is an issue thats facing a massive number of people who own the game. The time its taken to even get something claiming to fix it is pretty poor, the fact that the “fix” doesn’t do anything is just straight up lame.

I’m getting random encounters, Unsure Knight, ect again. Seems to be working fine without Dangerous Roads- although I don’t ever fast travel, works fine in real-time.

I’m getting attack encounters again on 1.3.4. Not had any other encounters though as yet.

I wasn’t seeing random encounters since the 1.3 patch, but with the 1.3.4 patch they’re working again. I also have the Roads Are Dangerous mod installed which makes them even more frequent.

I started a new play through after patch 1.3, not sure if that has anything to do with it working for me.

I have random events after patch 1.3.4. No new game still first one. No mods expect no trails behind arrow. I dont use fast travel. I have one or two random evenst every time i travel from sasau to ledecko.

Maybe we have gone from event spam to much less frequent events which is not a bad thing. I must admit I did not care anymore after distributing my 12th bandage to a kuttenberg refugy.

After 3 hours tonight, the only random encounter I had was while traveling along to go hunting with Lord Capon. Since this was a time sensitive quest I did not stop for the Knight who wanted to challenge me. This was in Rattay. So not Northern in the map as some people are claiming.

So perhaps random encounters have been minimized. Or perhaps they get more frequent the more Northern you travel. But, this playtgrough I’ll go without mods. Next playthrough for sure I’ll Nexus it up!

On v1.3.4 I loaded a save from v1.2.5 and used fast travel to get from the last charcoal burners (Ginger in a Pickle) back to Rattay Mill to check the contents of my chest and was attacked along the way by Cumans, with the option to scout or evade.

I’ve intentionally bypassed playing and saving my game on any version after v1.2.5 due to this and many other issues, and it seems I was right to be cautious.

I suspect that this bug activated by a particular quest.
So i have to say that i test a lot on the mechanics and do not even search for quest errors. And I have just done 19 quests and have random encounters every time. Therefore, I suspect that the bug maybe has been produced by reaching a certain point in the story? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

So, played for a couple of hours. Been traveling from north to south and east to west on the map.
All I get was three attacks. No riddle guy, knight, trader, etc.

The theorie that it is somewhere in the story, activated by some quest. Don’t know. Started after the hunt with Hans quest. Did the Limpy, Reeky and Timmy quests. Some small side quests (not the Talmberg race, since many mention this).

Beside we are still figuring out here ourselves what it could be is just silly. Warhorse had it working fine (yes, some parts work of this game…), but messed it up after the 1.3 patch. Since then it’s crap. They should know what the problem is and 1) fix it very simple or at least 2) tell us what it is and probably the community fix it faster than they do.

I had my second random encounter tonight. This time I was fast traveling from Sasau to Rattay. So yes, it’s more infrequent but I can confirm 2 random encounters in 10 fresh hours of gameplay.

1 was an attack on the road. (Fast travel)
The other was a knight challenging me to a duel (not fast traveling).

I’m on PC with 1.3.4 patch.

Those events only happens on some specific rotues like Ratty to Talmberg.

This weekend I ran into alot random battles at night guards/bandits/cumans/traders that were not present in the previous patch so I would say it works again. Those big melees are huge fun. :slight_smile:
Got a random road block while fast traveling during daytime.
I almost never use fast travel and I feel that random encounters are more frequent at night, met the riddler and beggars but haven’t yet seen the wayfarer knight.

Unmodded game on PC.
