You chose a regulated market with many disadvantages. On Steam you can refund everything in 2 hours. If you have techical issues or it’s bugged as hell you can request an individual refund after this deadline, GOG have something like 30 days limit.
I am playing on PS4, had two crashes so far, one lockup in inventory, troubles walking stairs, one catapult in the air after I clicked alchemy table and couple of smaller issues here and then. Those crashes are frustrating, but since they happen so rarely at least for me, I still overall very happy with the game. I am a game developer myself, so I understand, that any software, which have multiple ways of doings stuff is going to be buggy. Nobody can find all the use cases that players can. Warhorse even has a quest design which even bring in more bugs, because the freedom is so high while fullfilling them. So this is the trade off. I would say if you see a game is a complex game by design, do not buy the game as preorder or at launch, wait at least one month for some patches. What could have helped was maybe some more closed/open beta testing, but this can potentially harm the sales and prolong the release even further, so I understand the reasoning for not doing it.
I you feel the game would be good after a few patches and that you would enjoy it, just wait a little more for a few patches (one month or so) and you will be able to play well. I can play even now with the same hw just ok.
Microsoft are refunding with zero arguement and that was with a 48hr play time. It would seem they are aware the game should never have been released in this state.
48hr game time 40hrs of dodging bugs and glitches by loading previous saves sometimes 4hrs old. The more you play the more you get cornered by bugs like NPCS walking off into the distance and never returning or quests failing randomly with no reason. I even had my horse randomly dead for like 6hrs and then sprang back to life out of nowhere lol.
Either way game refunded fully with no arguement on Xbox so I’m more than happy
To be fair ps4/xb1 may have had the nicest looking games and biggest open world adventures ever but the generation has been the start for releasing broken games full of bugs to the public. The start of releasing early access games and games that are left in alphas and betas for years cashing in on people that may or may not ever be ready for official release. The start of forcing people to pay for season passes and constant dlc and cash cow stores for ingame currency cough gta
But as game engines become so much more sophisticated than in the past, so does keeping a game bug free.
Apparently this is the standard of gaming now.
I wonder if Microsoft will do this too, this was not a finished game. I’ve played betas that were more polished.
These are widespread issues that even simple use cases would have brought up.
Well, the game was tested by Microsoft and Sony for several days and passed their certification.
It isn´t possible to bring a game on console without their permission.
Good to know its not your fault then if sony and microsoft tested it for so many days its up to them as the last Quality Control team to say something. Has anyone played this on a brand new system? Could it have something to do with old consoles/old parts that dont perform the same as they do new? Because I’ve had mine since ps4 release and it sounds like a jet taking off sometimes lol
Just a thought.
Playing on an Xbox One S I have zero game breaking bugs and few minor bugs. Some are more funny than anoyying
I’m trying to get a refund from steam but my refund requests are refused because of 3 hours troubleshooting this game. That’s how much I wanted to play it, but after all the frustration I don’t want to play this anymore. I just want a refund.
Just wait for bug fixes then. Pc is probably alot more complicated as every person has a different setup in hardware. Just dont stress out about a game yes you spent money on it and if you cant get refunded well thats life. It doesnt always go the way you want. Your not the only person complaining and the more hassle they get the longer its probably going to take.
I actually asked this of the person I spoke to at support, I was told they test some games that go into the store but not every single one. Guessing this one slipped through the net?
No it did not “slipped though the net” it was tested by Sony and Microsoft for several days.
We can´t even upload patches to their consoles without permission.
I just got a refund through microsoft no problem, no questions asked. When I purchase a product I expect it to be a full, complete, functioning product. Game or otherwise. You don’t go to the hardware store to buy a saw, find out the blade doesn’t cut anything and have the manufacturer tell you they’ll be releasing a better more sharp blade “sometime” in the future. No…that’s now how buying products should work. New company or not, that’s no excuse. This game should not have been released for at least another 6 months when it’s actually finished and properly functioning. The fact so many gamers think buying a new game that doesn’t perform well and has to get fixed through patch after patch after patch is ok and is what should be expected anyways is beyond me.
It’s not ok, and if enough people demand a refund it sends a clear message.
Its clearly been said that this has been tested by sony and microsoft for days and passed QC. Is anyone giving them this much abuse? Probably not one message apart from asking for a refund XD
Look who it is, go figure. Why are you here? This is obviously the wrong place for you to be posting unless you’re looking for a refund? Or are you a hypocrite?
My apologies I didn’t see who you were before I replied. However this then is even worse, the fact that Sony and Microsoft both tested this in its current state and still allowed it to be put on the store is horrendous.
This really has nothing to do with this particular developer or publisher. Rather it’s the trend for games to be released unfinished, and for gaming consumers to be accepting of this reality. There is no longer an incentive for debugging and polishing a game prior to release. And it’s not a completely new phenomenon. Recall Assassin’s Creed: Unity. Then there was No Man’s Sky. PUBG is glaring. Now we have KC:D. It’s only to get worse for the gamer as long as pre-beta games are able to earn millions in the market. And don’t even get started on games that are falsely marketed, like Destiny.
It’s beyond you, because you compare a knife to a software… That is like comparing a toy car to a space shuttle… Code some games, you will understand better as well. Any change you do in a software like this (bug fix) can cause completely unexpected and unpredictable side effects anywhere in the game. After each patch version the game needs to be played again from start to finish by a team of for example 20 people who will definately not stumble on all the bugs. Add to the complexity the freedom the game offers compared to other games (open world, multiple choice quest etc.) and infinite amount of different hardware configurations and you would understand why it is almost impossible to publish a game a bug. Now you should also take into account that this is their first game, they spent most time just creating the tools, modifying the existing engine to allow hundreds of characters instead of just couple like in other cryengine shooters and also they are small with smaller budget than what you are used to. They fixed more than 40 thousand of bugs, so it is expected it is not yet bug free and sometimes you just have to set the release date, because programmers are realy realy expensive.
