[QUESTION] Jewelry Slots - Why Do We Have Them?

What is the point of the slots for necklaces and rings? The ones I’ve found don’t do anything at all and it isn’t like they’re visible especially since everything is in first person.

There’s no jewelry crafting or merchants and because this is supposed to be historically accurate and or realistic, it wouldn’t make sense if they had stats on them anyway.

So what was the point of implementing these slots?

They raise your charisma quite a bit, in the description of them it even says they are used to show social status.

This either isn’t true, or our definitions of “quite a bit” differ quite a bit.

My charisma went from 6 to 7 with the necklace.

The silver ring has no significant effect on charisma at all (it remained at 6).

I tested this before and just tested it again on Steam (US) Version - 1.2.5

Charisma is raised by visible items so if you’re wearing gloves it’s therefore covered…

Jewelry seem to only give some charisma

This is incorrect. The necklace cannot be seen at all, and yet it has an effect (although a very small one) on charisma when equipped.

Regardless, I decided to test this anyway and removed the gloves and it appeared to change nothing.

Though, even if what you said was true, it would make these jewelry slots even more useless considering the layers of gear we wear on top of them. There is a such thing as too much of anything and that would be too much realism that I’d have to constantly remove clothing for my necklace and or ring to show in order to receive the benefits.

Also, how many different kinds of jewelry are there? So far I’ve found 1 kind of necklace and 1 kind of ring. Even if there were say, 5 of each, did we really need these slots implemented for such a limited number of items that hmay or may not benefit us in an arguably minuscule way?

you want to have charisma when you are in town so you dont need to wear your armor in town thats why it makes sense
and to remove gloves when you wear a necklace doesnt have effect, if you have a ring it would probably (havent tried out myself)

Your original girlfriend ring gives you like a plus 6 charisma. Bianca or whatever her name is

That actually makes no sense at all.

1.) Not many NPCs are changing their clothes and this includes the ones in armor. So why would I have to?

2.) Looking like a knight, wearing full armor, appears to gain people’s charisma (as I imagine it would) which makes a lot of sense. Being decked out in shiny plate armor, yes… you would gain charisma not lose it.

3.) It’s a game. It’s supposed to be fun. It wouldn’t be fun, given how often I enter and leave towns, to have to change my equipment every single time. That’s irrational… and you know something? Probably realistic given the difficulty of putting armor on in the first place.

Never seen this. That isn’t to say it doesn’t happen or can’t, but please have proof showing you equipping this thing and it raising you charisma by 6. Otherwise, no. Also, let’s assume it is true, you’re telling me it makes sense to add additional slots because there’s another ring?

Im not at home, but i dont really know how much each (armor charisma point) impacts the stat. I just know that the ring info shows charisma 6 or something to that amount.

you are not forced to wear these clothes but you can, which I think is good
Its more like a role play when it is like that
of course shiny armor also has effect

Maybe it does, but I prefer proof over description. The game can say what it wants in the description, but in the end, it only matters how much charisma is shown in the stat box.

Irrelevant. You aren’t forced to buy the dresses either, doesn’t mean it makes sense to have them in the game. Likewise, it makes no sense in this case either. They implemented these slots, which likely took effort, but there was really no point from what I can tell.

And if the reason was almost purely aesthetic, then it actually makes less sense because we’re forced to spend most of the game in first person… but even if we weren’t, the jewelry isn’t visible regardless.

So just checked and saw a reddit that suggested that the armor charisma bonus is figured up with dimishing returns as the total gets higher. So a plus 11 from the ring when you first get it has more impact than when you are geared out with full plate

Also rings and cups are low weight sellables. They have a working bonus, the impact may be miniscule in later parts of the game, but its better than nothing. Its possible that they had plans to add plot points, but got scrapped. From a roleplay perspective it reflects your care for Bianca. Some people just see her as a piece of ass and not worth finding her body… Ahem

I have to say that just makes this whole thing even more ridiculous, mainly for reasons I already outlined. But thank you for checking this out. While it isn’t entirely clear as to what is going on, charisma is fluctuating up and down based on different pieces of armor.

I removed everything, and only equipped things that made my charisma go up, and realistically, the way my guy looks now, wouldn’t certainly not have more charisma than when he is impressively geared up. In fact, his underwear is showing right now and yet somehow, he has more charisma like this than he does in full shiny plate armor?

Anyway, this is turning into a conversation about charisma when it really is supposed to be about the fact that we have these slots implemented that are proving to be worthless or of so little value, they may as well be considered worthless.

I think you are letting your ocd ruin your kcd experience

I didn’t realize that pointing out factual flaws meant that my experience was ruined. I suppose if I mention that there was no reason to allow us to buy dresses, this would also equate to my whole experience being ruined in your eyes?

I think you’re being over and unnecessarily protective of the game and you’re letting that ruin your ability to comprehend my words. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have made such an irrelevant and inaccurate statement.

But yes, it is a flaw and one doesn’t need “ocd” to notice it. They just have to have eyes and then take a moment to think.

CDO if I may say so. Letters arrenged in the proper order!

Take a chill pill, its a joke. Rpg= role-playing game. Play a role. If you are a min-maxer wear the ring for the extra charisma to hopefully put you over the next tier for for another point in your stat

What is cdo? Lol
