First of all dresses can be given to ladies and it is for those people like me who like to roleplay within the game changing clothes etc. and this is only good that they made it possible because maybe you don’t like it but it’s not like no chain gives you any debuffs and it doesn’t harm you in anyway. But some people just like to roleplay on this scale too
I’m sure your roleplay wouldn’t have been significantly impacted if these elements, that have such little effect on gameplay, were not included.
I asked a question, presented my viewpoint, discussed its merits, and you haven’t said anything that hasn’t already been said. None of this affected you and you didn’t have to reply. This thread died months ago.
I wish they would just lock it as there is nothing else to add/say.
And no, I didn’t have to reply to you, but I forgot to turn alerts off to this thread and here we are. I’m notifications now. Thank you for your time, and do take care.
Not to continue a dead thread…well, perhaps take it in a different direction. This is not how they are currently implemented, but more in the direction of where these slots could go, if they implemented them better.
Historically, it was not uncommon for a signet ring to be worn as a mark of authority.
In the same vein, livery collars were worn as insignia of office or a mark of fealty, in use from the late 14th century, onwards.
Both of these items would have been immediately recognized by anyone. In game, not only would it boost your charisma, but it would also increase your noble bearing. Additionally, however, what it should do is open up unique dialog options. A signet ring should allow you to persuade a guard you’re under orders from Sir Divish, for example. A livery collar or chain of office should alter the way everyone greets and speaks to you in much the same way you were greeted differently in-game while wearing the monk’s robes. Or, if it was a livery collar to a specific lord, you could use it to alter people’s reactions towards you in areas loyal to that lord. Conversely, forgetting that you’re wearing that particular livery could get you attacked in places that are enemies to that particular lord/faction.
Just another way to bring deeper immersion, some very real historical significance, and some political intrigue, to the game…and to the jewelry slots in particular.
Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but sometimes spam is good!
This is an awesome idea! I’d love to see that.
I just collect my jewellry in my chest, making a nice treasure chest for myself.
