Are you guys going to ad them to the game.
I want my knight to have a cape.
you’re not a knight. and capes are more or less fantasy construct. in this time and place they just wore long cowl hoods
A knight at 1400 wore a surcoat, not a cape.
With the rise of full suits of plate armour garment on the surface became rare in general (from about 1420 onwards).
still would look bad ass
I bet that plazma rifle would be badass too, but … not gonna happen.
Please, guys, stop being snarky and conceited all the time. This applies mainly to @Dekssan and @213 nearly everywhere. If you have no polite valuable contribution count to 100 and remain silent.
Hm, but you know that you won’t see your own character apart from dialogues or cutscenes?
Don’t worry anyway, I guess people will mod capes in very soon…
People still wore cloaks back then to protect against the elements.
I doubt they would wear them in battle though.
I made a fast and very basic Google search for male fashion in 1400 concerning capes and cloaks and these are some of the images that came up… and while you can see capes and such, notice that the people wearing them are not clad in armor …that would be just be impractical
I love cloaks and capes…though Edna from The Incredibles probably wouldn´t agree…but they need to be combined with the right type of clothing
You are not in battle 100% of the time in game.
I expected enemies behind every corner
They were for more than just fashion, they were used by travelers to protect against the elements. What are you going to be doing in the the game? A whole 'lotta traveling. Besides, the last thing you want for your armor is for it to get rained on, it’s not like you have a squire in game(?).
Well you wouldn’t be wearing armor when riding around would you? Good point on the squires though, we definitely need those.
You wouldn’t be wearing armor while riding around in reality, but you will in the game unless you feel like taking your armor off just to put it back on whenever you think it might be needed, but most people won’t do that.
Then most people will end up in a very smelly suit of armor
Yes, when the day comes where digital scent technology is integrated into gaming maybe they can add a armor washing mini-game for optimal immersion.
I actually wonder how they are going to deal with the process of taking armor on and off.
Beleve me, in real life you would not wear your armor the whole day. My suit of armour (living history) was customized for me and is very easy to wear (yes, i can mount a horse without a crane ), but after some hours I am very glad to take it off.
But back to the game: I just wonder if there will be a place where I can store my armour or my clothes and stuff and then put it off and on as I need them? Do I have a “home”?
A knight could jump onto his warhorse in one swift movement without touching the stirrup, climb ladders while upside-down, and even swim while wearing armor; I’m not trying to make you sound like a chump or anything, I just really like talking about knights.
As for having a “home”, I assume you will have one, that is pretty much standard for RPGs.
