And I thought this type of skull duggery on Mafia 2 was bad…
I hit this bug with the ginger quest not being triggered last night as well and went back to the previous save right before fighting the guy in the woods north of the farm. However, i seem to have another issue in that when i revert to the previous autosave and kill the bad guy again then there is no other corpse (with the hoof pick).
Just downloaded a ~200mb patch on steam, does anyone know if this is a fix?

A little download of 2.3MB appears. I didnt put the download or rollback thing, didnt verify cache too. will load the game and see if works. brb
i had the same problem. Just had the 2.3MB update. Bug seems to be fixed now. I have the next marker and the game even saved after talking to Jakub.
that little update fixed the problem with triggering the quest for me aswell. I’ll see if I find him now…
Edit: even the old save file got the quest triggered. so no progress lost. happy about that!

The patch of today, 2.3MB already fixed it. Working smooth here
To be quite honest, this has never happened to me before the patch. This is my second go at the game, true. I think the update made it worse.
new patch 1.2.5 didn’t fix it.i thought i did something wrong in “the hunt” mission,but when i signed up in this forum,it’s fucked up guys.i cant even roll back to previous save since i have completed all undertaken side quests except stealing jewelry from lady stephanie. i have played more than 32 hours .please fix this shit!!!game is awesome by the way(except the game breaking bugs!!!).
Same shit here, Reloaded saves a dozen of times and still fucked. Can’t star the Ginger quest. I was searching the forest on the west from Neuhof like a fockin idiot, cause I thought i had to find it myself without any marks on map ofr like 3 hours. Then i got ganked by 7 bandits at once near interesting point or something… GUYS FIX THIS PLOX
