Stuck in Talmburg - Help - *Early story spoilers*

Hello All,

I am stuck in the main story right at the beginning when Henry is trying to leave the castle to bury his parents. I havent followed any guides, which would have told me to talk to someone in Skalitz to obtain lockpicks early on. I now only have 12 Groschen and the trader in Talmburg is out of money. Is there a way to fix my problem or do I have to start over? I tried jumping out of the castle at the bridge, which worked, but I can’t get away from the guards once I’m outside…

and console codes for money are not working as well…

You need to talk to the gaurd at the gate. Then he tells you to dress as a gaurd so he can say he didn’t recognize you. Either knock out a gaurd or go to the barracks and steal a suit. With lockpicks.

You can then go back to the gaurd and he let’s you pass.

I talked to the lord’s wife at Talmburg, said her i wanted to bury my parents and she gave me about 25 Groschen. This might only work if you talked with her during your first night and told her about your Story.

I had the same problem, not having any lockpicks from Skalitz (i did the first quest to return the tools alone), so this was my only option. Selling some items might give you enough to buy 2 lockpicks from the trader, but you will also be able to take it from a knocked out guard.

In the armory tower there also is a chest wich contains armou that isnt locked. So you dont need a lot pick to obtain guards clothing.

Not true. I believe on the second floor of the armory tower there is an unlocked chest with armor in it.

Nope, not anymore.
It was there throughout beta and testing phases, but when I got there in this playthrough, all chests were locked with varying levels of difficulty

I found it last night. I was out of lockpicks and found ths chest. I am not lying…

Interesting… maybe chest gets opened in conclusion with some quest progress (as I went to check it right after Sigismund left, before I got “find armor” quest)

Could it be the chest I found was not in the armory tower but in another chamber maybe?
I am almost sure it was in the tower though…
100% sure it was unlocked… Maybe I will reload my save to see where exactly it was…

I had similiar problem, didn´t have any money or lockipcks… So I stole everything from the armory and exchanged for money and lockpicks :smiley:

@Barthold You’re right i confirm that on the second floor of the tower on the right side there is a chest which is not locked! I’m on Xbox One :wink:

Did you even watch the video I linked? Armory itself is locked and chests in the other tower are locked. Not in the video but all other chest are also locked. Only free soldier equipments are two bows, two shields and bunch of flight arrows inside the gatehouse.

No I did not watch it since i am at work right now. But I guess it is to show us that everything is behind locks in your game?
Are you sure the lady or a guard hinted you to steal guards armor from the armoory tower?. If not maybe the unlocked chest is not triggered yet in your video?

I recorded it from the savepoint after the parley in the morning so it isn’t hinted in the video but they stay locked even after talking with Lady Stephanie and the guard. I even checked from the Skalitz survivors’ cutscene, it is always locked.

I can confirm, the chest in the high tower of talmberg (2nd Floor) is not locked
there is one locked chest at the top of the tower
I’m not sure anymore if the entrance Door was locked for me
