The game runs on CryEngine, which is known to be extremely bad for console hardware. No one is surprised there.
Im sorry. You cant really compare different games that use different engines. The cryengine is very demanding and looks great on powerful systems. It is very cpu dependant and consoles have very poor cpu power. That is why it looks and runs bad on console for now. It will get a little better in time but I wouldnt expect miracles.
How long was the game running before you took those pictures though? I’m playing on regular Xbox 1 and I’ve noticed that if I fully close the game then when I go back in it takes some time for the graphics to load and look nice, but if I’ve been playing a while or if I just put the Xbox in sleep mode with the game running, it looks great when I come back. Like others have said the textures take time to load. Im hoping that one of the main things they are patching will be the load times for everything. Not sure how they will go about that but the load screens and the lag on the wait, sleep and jail timers is pretty bad because it tries to load what’s happening in the game while the time passes I think.
Is it me or does the textures (or LOD) look a bit better with Patch 1.03?
I think they lowered the visibility for the level of details to improve the framerate.
I’m playing on a PS4 Pro and i’m in Sasau since 6+ hours
and with version 1.02 the framerate in the town was like 20-25 fps. But now with version 1.03
its 28-30 fps in the exact same area. But now i notice way more often that details are loading very very slow,
like partly 2 meters in front of you.
So that’s even worse… Uhhh.
