The Ending Made Me Lose all the Good Will I Had For War Horse (Spoilers)

I thoroughly enjoyed the 18 hours it took me to reach the end of this game. The story felt like it was gaining momentum and I was finally reaching a point where my choices would have major consiquences in the world. Unfortunately, much like Skyrim, almost all these choices are illusions.

I finished the seige, rescued my father, and just when I thought my quest to retrieve my sword was actually about to start, the game ends with the quest to retrieve your sword still active…

This game should not have been released as a 60 dollar title. Bugs aside, If War Horse was more honest about their final product it wouldn’t have rubbed me the wrong way, but as it is, I can’t justify another purchase from this studio.

EXACTLY my thoughts, glad to see a lot of others feeling the same way, I want more for my $60, that ending was pitiful and absolutely ruined my whole experience.

This post should be re-titled “I’m the kinda guy that stops watching Game of Thrones because cliffhangers leave me salty”

Jokes aside, it seems too far to say you’re just going to stop buying from them, It leaves plenty of need for a good expansion. I do agree that it wasn’t a great ending, because it doesn’t leave room to continue playing the game without it making no sense.
Explanation: It doesn’t make sense for Henry to just kinda leave Capon on the road or right before whilst they’re both EXCITED to get on the road, but then just kinda leave and start doing the rest of the game, kinda hurts the immersion.

I can’t wait for an expansion, and I think it is needed very very soon.

Are you guys joking or is that real about the ending beacus that will really sucks. If it’s not have a end yet did there defs2 say anything about it.

The ending was a good ending because it didn’t resolve anything? What a rickety defense.

they said from the beginning of the kickstarter campaign that the game will be split into episodes/acts, in the end they released the first 2 acts as the final game instead of just the first one and the third will be probably a bix expansion like in witcher, i personaly found the story quite resolved with the local threat (that you were supposed to destroy basicaly from the point where you got your horse) eliminated

@JackieChansFoot I never once said that the ending was good let alone for that reason. I said it leaves a good window open for a good expansion I’m just as upset with the ‘ending’ as the next man but going as far as saying I’m going to just stop buying from them is ludicrous in my opinion. It’s a cliffhanger, any good TV series has cliffhangers as well, I think we’re just used to most SP-RPG’s having no cliffhangers in their main stories, then releasing expansions with totally different stories. i.e Skyrim’s Dawnguard, or Witcher 3’s Blood & Wine. None of these expansions were closely related to the original Main Story, but that’s what we’re used to having

l was really hopeing to rebuild Skalitz , but no. The dlc to finish the game better be cheap, lets release a game but not finish it , smart one dev’s.

The castle was abandoned since the attack and noone rebuilt it in the history.

It took me 97 hours due to massive bugs and crashing. I’m done until it’s in the bargain bin. The story derailed before it could start. Subplotting an entire arc and throwing in a twist that demotivates your cause killed the entire experience. I really don’t see how the ENTIRE main quest revolved around local bandits being hired by fake money so an impish twat could maybe have a chance to vacation in Talmberg for a week. The fact that the deciding factor of Radzig and Stephanie’s lives coming down to Henry and Toth dueling to the death didn’t happen, was a missed opportunity. Radzig being Henry’s father was completely out of left field and took away from the Rags-to-Riches appeal(Blacksmith apprentice to Knight) Also, being a one man fucking machine ONCE again in a “realistic” game is fucking DISGUSTING. Oh Henry, you just single handedly solved the massacre, can you go spy on their camp now? Oh Henry you just spent 9 hours in a monastery, then carefully captured the perp you were supposed to kill, oh, you don’t get the dice in his pocket though, you gotta kill those three crimps and take theirs. Then get captured and beaten and stumble back to us fat little Lord’s, always eating in the dining hall, oh and Henry, can you be a messenger boy and go muster up troops in Talmberg again, we know you’re almost dead from your wounds but no other man can ride horse and deliver such a message! My God man! None of the quests had longevity, I spent 3 hours hunting book pages in the monastery only to turn them in and get the keys to the forbidden books that I had pickpotted three hours prior lmao.

Oh and the scene after the credits. Why didn’t they dress that poor Martin differently? Give the man a white robe or something! A blacksmith, even in death! Lol and what happened to all of those peolple I arrested? I may never know because after the cutscene of being awaken from the dream ends, I was stuck in loading screen limbo. Therefore the game is done and so am I! God Save You Kingdom Come: Deliverance! And Jesus Christ Be Praised!

Its a game should we not make the history of it.
l never really like those games that follow history to the letter , where the player has no real impact on the game environment.
Rather boring , l would love to see skalitz rebuilt by the player, and so starts the history of kingdom come.

The ending up was the worst part of the game… gutting

i wonder, if they would have cut the exposition and ended the game right after the dream would people be less upset because the cliffhanger wouldnt be so obviously in your face or would people be more confused

without any salt: we have the 3 sieg missions and 2 of them are so driven by the story that it hardly matters what you do the outcome is the same. and then the end. i agree to disagree with the length of the main story. even tho i spend 80-90 h (mostly stralling and having fun in the game) i kinda felt unhappy with the fact that in the whole game you dont archieve anything… and since i spend 2 days to find a secret path to the monastery i was not keen to go on with this game. it they implement stuff like sword and armorforging in the manner of alchemy and some realy big battles that would be worth but this is like a unfinished version… sorry

@Tallamy Oh for fucks sake. So now you need an EXPANSION to be able to complete the BASE GAME story? I hate 2018.

@ileboii Have you seen the ending? I don’t want to ruin it for you because the story is quite good but the ending is too much of a cliffhanger lol. However, the title of the post does say “Spoilers”

SPOILERS kinda lol

The base game story certainly isn’t over, because the whole “vengeance” quest you had the majority of the game was to find Markvart, get the Sword, and achieve vengeance. None of that was accomplished, at least not the original vengeance. You definitely get some good payback at multiple points, but nothing against the original antagonist, which is exactly why an EXPANSION is needed and is needed soon

I love the game and I love Warhorse Studios. I’m fully willing and ready to give them my time and patience, because they’re making a game that no one else has made the way it is and I love them for it.

Spent the 3 days of the siege getting my skills leveled up, getting all my gear in order, and getting stocked up on hundreds of piercing arrows all in preparation for what i assumed would be a massive battle to take Talmberg back.

Fast forward to the actual battle… turns out to be 2 tiny little skirmishes that last less than 5 mins and then the game is over. Like…are you fucking kidding me??? I loved this game overall, but the end especially made me feel like it was worth $30 at the most.

Yeah that’s pretty much what I did… very disappointing ending.

Game is amazing but I’d thought after so many years in development they’d have more of a story line considering there isn’t online multiplayer etc.

Spent more time finishing cod or battlefield single player

Am I one of the few content with the ending? I mean it’s plausible. What have you else? Have peasant Henry, now bastard, miraculously slay Sigismund and end the war and become emperor of the HRE? I still feel the actual story was fairly well written.

Research dictates that there was going to be guaranteed a sequel. They’ve been saying that for the past 2 years.
