The Game is not out there

I agree, the game does not come up easily in Google. Simple as that.

Depends on your search input
the more precision the better results

I have to agree, sadly. I fear they are missing their chance to get more noticed. They had a great start but have seemingly failed to capitalize on it and let the hype fade by not communicating.

except they DID communicate and have given people a timeline as far as when they should expect future updates.

When was this? I’ve looked at anything I could find but I never ran across anything like that.

I linked it here just yesterday, in this thread. A few comments up. Everyone getting Kickstarter alerts should have received it via e-mail, too.

You simply can`t uphold excitement for more than two years

They will increase the rate of updates and communication when the first alpha will be released and then maybe again a few months before release and when Early Access will be started

The Kickstarter was about funding which is way sooner than marketing. With most AAA games there are months between the initial funding and the “go” decision and the first time the game even gets marketed to the public
so relax.

Not communicating
 how exactly?

Just a few interviews i watched and read. There is probably much more of them + tons of previews + lectures at schools and conferences which you can count as communication about this game too.

In light of the discussion, I’m struggling to understand why the fascination with, and combative arguing over, the SEO status of either warhorsestudios.cz or KC:D.

I’m beginning to suspect someone’s punting for business.

The game is out there. It will become more visible. I’d sooner the focus remain on the core product than any ancillary gubbins.

Although I’m personally looking forward to the store

Are you serious?

Very. I subscribe to a fair number of dev forums and this is the only one where the SEO silliness has managed to appear multiple times.

So, yes. My “suspicious fatherless child” alert is pinging and panicked pixies are scurrying to battle stations. Because nobody cares this much about SEO without being personally invested.

Dyslexia is not a joke
unless I’m doing it. In which case, go ahead and laugh.

I wish you the very best of luck Rustypup.

I don’t think Shaddix has a vested interest in the SEO side of things.

I do think Shaddix is overreacting to the situation without having fully understood the complexity of it or the stage Warhorse is currently at in relation to the Kickstarter project and the next steps.

This thread gets more and more pointless

And that’s the problem. You should be able to search for variations of the actual game title and get the official game website. A lot of people aren’t looking for the Kickstarter or don’t know that the Kickstarter is the page that will lead them to the current game site.

You can lead a horse to water

Why are people even arguing against this? Are you seriously arguing that they shouldn’t try and get the official site to be more relevant in search? Why argue that the official website isn’t important to find?

This game could easily get vague mention in forums and upon search, they just see the Kickstarter that they may or may not have heard about? That ended months ago?

For some reaons for some People, thats the right way to do it. They just know better then all the other 98% of Game Devs. and their projects.

Nobody is saying they shouldn’t get the word out any way they can.

Most of us are saying some of you guys are worrying way too much at this point about things that will be taken care of when they’re taken care of. The game is still happening with or without the exact website at the top of every search in the world or a fully open shop right this second.

Calm down.

Agreed. If we were at least close to an alpha release, then I might care, but honestly, it’s pretty irrelevant to a game that’s still in early production. It’s absolutely impossible to keep the hype up until they’re done - the SEO of their website should be pretty low on their priority list atm.
