you dont get it do you ? the second referendum should have NEVER have happened .
the irish people voted no to the Lisbon treaty . it was a legal binding referendum meaning the irish government could not legally go against the result . therefore not ratify the treaty . therefore meaning the Lisbon treaty shouldnt of been allowed to continue . it should have been thrown away . as per EU rules . instead the EU parliament voted to continue with it anyway . meanwhile forcing the irish to hold another referendum in a reworded manor .
if a party is voted out of office it cant then force another election under the pre-text of "you didnt fully understand our policies " that goes against the entire principle of democracy .

Laws are open to interpretation. The circumstances of their adoption has huge impact on the laws interpretation.

We were occupied and ruled by the Soviets. We know what tyranny looks like. EU is far from that.
[/quote] and you’re repeating the same mistake all over again .
i understand what you’re saying in that the irish voted in favour in the second vote but the issue is the principle of that second vote taking place and why the first was not recognised and ignored by the EU
why not go for a fucking best of 3 result while we are at it destroying the very principles of a democratic result
