It still runs like charm, i can usually squeeze 60 fps out of it on medium to high settings at 900 p on newer games. I find it funny that despite it being a 5 year old card it’s probably on par with the Xbox 1.

Someone i know offered me a 980 for a 100 bucks, but i was fucking broke at the time. I plan on getting a 760 or maybe a 780 at around Christmas.

Russia has just begun airstrikes in Syria at the request of the Syrian government . Apperently aimed at ISIS but U.S. sources say they were informed before hand but the first strikes did not hit IS controled areas but just rebel held areas in general .

this comment hits the nail on the head

The west has been incredibly stupid in its polices for North Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria. The direct result is over a million lives lost and 10s of millions of people displaced. The dictators deposed understood that their countries were in fact populated by many different tribes that if not controlled would descend into chaos and civil war. This is exactly what has happened. Forget about democracy in these regions. Democracy requires discussion and compromise. That doesn’t exist in the cultures of these regions and is seen as weakness.

Putin gets it and is prepared to support the lessor of the two evils. Given the choice of Assad or IS, I tend to agree.

The only time i think the U.S has been successful in an intervention in the past 60 years, is Korea. All other conflicts after that have done nothing but rack up the debt, and get people killed.

Despite all this you still have idiots clamoring to intervene constantly. I heavily favor isolationism, i still think we should honor our current agreements and alliances, but other than that i would love the U.S to go back to the way it was before world war 1, the way it was meant to be.

The 100+ bases all over the world do nothing to protect America and the American people. All they protect is the greed of the men in the capitol.

i wouldnt really say Korea was a complete success , the first phase of defending the south was but we failed to destroy the north out right and simply returned to the status quo .

but that was UN intervention rather than a us one . china did go to town on us quite badly but then again there troops were fresh and our were exhausted by the time they got involved .

although we kicked some serious Chinese arse in a few battles

Without US bases and especially US nuclear arms in Europe, the whole continent would have been communist today. Still.

Including UK.

That would not do much for US safety, would it?

is that some sort of joke ? we are a nuclear power on our own and back in the mid cold war certainly had the kit to defend our chunk of rock.

also there was never a soviet plan or even thought of invading western europe . lucky for you . as our (NATO) plan to defend was basically nuking the fuck out of the soviet union , which would of included modern day cezch republic as you was one of the soviets lovely puppets

@thedivineinfidel You are seriously missing the point of departure in this discussion.

Saw this today and it made think of you. @snejdarek @thedivineinfidel @SirWarriant

Well technically we did destroy the north, they only reason 23 million people live in oppression in the north right now is because of the damn Chinese.

True, but the U.S was the largest force there, and a U.S general was in charge of all the U.N forces.

Uh not really, they pushed us back a hundred or so miles at the cost of 600,000 men. The only reason they were able to do this is because the U.S military was scraped after ww2, China had the logistical advantage, and they vastly out numbered us. Had the U.S military been at its ww2 strength we very well could have taken China like MacArthur wanted.

Even with all those advantages they still only managed to scrape a draw. And like you said

Also remember the Soviets were rendering our air power ineffective because the U.S was still using ww2 planes, while the Soviets had jets.

You only listed commonwealth victories, i feel compelled to link American victories.

I would say the U.N forces beat the shit out China and South Korea, the only real victories they had was the initial surprise attack.
