People make mistakes, plus he’s old as fuck he might not have even remembered putting the gun in the car.
He didn’t have any malicious intent so why is he being prosecuted?
So they pretty much just sentenced him to death.

Not to mention it sounds like the kid was standing in front of the loaded guns, but if it could have been a weapons malfunction.
the prosecutors did acknowledge he had no malicious intent and never tried to prove otherwise . i guess it would simply look bad if they did nothing . personally i think the guys not got long left he has made a mistake . take his weapons away at the most .
possibly , id be surprised if he served more than 6 months . and it wont be a regular prison . likely be a hospital
round shouldnt be in the chamber . should always clear the weapons before taking them off the range .
i put all blame on the parents or person in charge of them .
if they are discussing the weapons and picking them up , should be unloaded for sure . what they have done i would put on the same level of stupidity as cleaning a weapon with it loaded
Well according to the story they were on this mans 100 acre property shooting. I would assume they were using the picnic table as a platform to shoot off of, so maybe they were shooting, the guy put the gun down to talk with the other guy about the gun, they were being stupid and not paying attention to the kids. One kid walks in front of the gun.
Then the other picks it up and it goes off, or he pulled the trigger on accident.
Again we have no way of knowing, but i the parents in charge were being stupid.
i got the impression they were sitting round the table discussing the 3 weapons as the round hit the kid in the head so i would assume he was sitting . possibly pulled the trigger when picking it up
but yes i guess your theory is quite possible .
but even then the person firing it before should of cleared the chamber and put the safety on
“A little harsh.” You British.
Well you still have the life without parole as the only country in Europe, so there something that works.
You need to do some serious reading up on firearms. Unintentional discharge is not a weapon malfunction, it is weapon’s operator malfunction.
Safeties are rarity on modern pistols. Neither of my guns have one, nor will the Ruger we will be buying for GF next. The CZ 75 Stailess that will follow (hopefully in January) will be the first one with safety, but that because it will be range/home defense with only occassional carry. And because they don’t make the Stainless model with decocker, which would be my preference.
Yes i agree, thats how i was always taught, put the safety on before you start setting the gun down.
If this is the case and they had the guns loaded and safeties off then then the adults in charge should get manslaughter charges.
Ive read and been told plenty of stories where fire arms (mainly older ones) have literally gone off with their safeties on simply from being bumped, or kicked.
life without parole is hardly ever given here . unless its mass murder . and even then its hard because the EU doesnt allow it as apparently its against their human rights to not offer parole
the way we did it on the ranges in the military is you cleared the weapon and then range master would call "for inspection port arms " you would then turn the rifle to the side and he would check the chamber is clear before you then release the working parts and fire off a aimed shot . to make triply sure no round is present , then apply the safety and set the rifle down
Why is that? That seems dangerous.
Fucking love that movie.
Ever shot a revolver or lever action?
i cant say i have a huge experience with pistols but i know the glock 17 doesnt have a safety as such . it instead has basically to simply explain it two triggers side by side . they have to both be squeezed for the gun to go off .
so you have the actual trigger then next to it another sort of safety catch trigger that sits a little forward of the actual trigger . so that weapon should not go off unless you intentionally pull the trigger .
nope . shot an automatic grenade launcher though so i win
Makes sense now, and ive seen pistols with those palm safety things. Every pistol ive shot though has had a normal safety.
never liked the glock . i was fucking fuming when the british army changed from the browning too the glock .
never beat the old boys
Bitch please ive shot a 1911 with a bald eagle engraving on the grip, and as for the lever action. Well i think everyone has dreamed of being a cowboy in the old west at one point in their life.
I actually shot it near an Indian reservation too , its too bad i didn’t get to gun a bunch down as they charged me with tomahawks.
Or do you not play cowboys and indians in Britain?
HA you mean that cheap rip off of our beautiful 1911?
