I had to visit a police station yesterday. I called them in advance to ask what their gun rules are (some stations require surrender to an officer upon entry). The guy’s answer was “I don’t think they check it here”. Didn’t ask me about it again upon visit.
Handing over of the gun is actually quite tricky business. Some police stations and court houses have the dry fire barrel for safe unloading, but those that don’t usually don’t allow unloading upon entry. At the same time you can’t fiddle with the gun outside, and it is also forbidden to leave it in the car. So basically you need to find a secluded place (public bathroom or something) close by so that you can unload and then hand them unloaded gun.

I bet i could do that, just head up to the mountains. 
There used to be a show on like that called man tracker, where people had to travel a long distance in the wilderness on foot while being pursued by professional trackers, and hunters on horse back.
I might have to check out that show though, because I’m a sucker for stuff like that.
One of the couples tried doing this . Just wild camping . They lasted 19 days , but they were mentally fucked and decided to take a gamble and go for some civilisation . Caught within the hour

The hunters are using all the prober tech as well . So they have their bank accounts all flagged . They can hope between every cctv camera in the country , phones are bugged .
They traced the same couple from London all the way up north , using just CCTV cameras after the couple made the mistake of using a cash machine .
