I don’t think Piers Morgan has actually won a single debate, although I’m not sure this classifies as a debate. But Piers got what was coming to him, how would the British react to an American demanding they ban shit in the U.K?

I’m really confused as to why people bring up full autos during these discussions though. The only time they were used in a shooting was the North Hollywood shoot-out and they were illegally obtained.

BTW Jones sounds like a shouting crazy. He didn’t win the debate, he was just loud as a crazy monkey.
If modern sporting rifles are the issue of the debate, then there is one simple argument. 2A is there to protect people against tyranny. Modern sporting rifles the best means to achieve that. Shotguns and pistols are good for personal defense, but it takes more than that to dissuade the government from infringing on personal freedoms.

Yeah, its entertainment value, i never he won. But he was honestly just acting like Piers does have the time, Piers has thrown has papers, called gun owners and his guests idiots ect.
But i can understand Alex’s Jones anger. Piers wasn’t even a U.S citizen and he was up there for years misleading the public and influencing a large number of people. Thank fully they fired his ass.

Well the issue is people here typically on the left, are way too trusting of the government. When ever you try to say semi autos protect our rights everyone just calls you a crack pot. They try to say the 2nd amendment is for hunting and fishing, which is horse shit. Of course the government can still go tyrannical when the population is armed, but it gives the people a chance to fight back.
The guys who wrote it had just been fighting a tyrannical government and saw the value of an armed population.

Well even if we don’t talk about evil government, even if only to avoid the argument by @thedivineinfidel about ineffectiveness of popular armed resistance against armed forces, then there is the Charlie Hebdo argument. Had they had the same access to firearms as the Czechs (or Americans) do, things would have been very different for the newspaper guys.
And if that is a too far of a stretch for anyone, then imagine the hundreds of other people who were silenced by much more probable possibility of low intensity (teeth kicked in) violence aimed at them by thugs for exercising their freedom of speech, especially as regards criticism of either muslim immigration/faith (typically in countries like France, Belgium) or reporting about criminal organizations and their ties to government and police (countries like Italy or Greece).
