In what way shape or form does the EU defend against russia ? in many aspects (if not every ) the EU is the fucking reason for the tension with russia .

second largest army yes . but no where near competing for second best . any modern military would dismantle the turkish in not much time at all .

NATO tactics revolve around the UK and US spearheading with France also supporting the spear head and the other nations falling in behind to mop up . Why ?
because we are the only 3 nations in NATO who actually have the logistics to keep a force repaired , equipped and fed while maintaining a solid advance .

True, but my point still stands. Just go back to when there was no EU, Europe was the most powerful continent on the planet, with most nations having a powerful army. France, Britain, Germany, Italy all those countries are shadows of their former selves, military wise.
I think we can both agree that the whole " The EU has made Europe stronger" is bullshit. 
The reason Europe hasn’t had a major war in the past 70 years is not because of the EU, but because of nukes.
absolutely . i agree . as a brit i feel my country has forgotten who we are . if there is one thing through history my nation has been fucking good at its war .
we had a back bone and very few nations had the bollocks to take us on . now look at us . we need a substantial investment and increase in our military . which i think will come , it may take a military embarrassment however which is my worry

the EU has made it weaker if anything . it surprises me how @snejdarek is very switched on with his right to defend himself yet is quite happy to support such an undemocratic and frankly soviet style system that the EU is .

the 100 year war was actually more like 4 wars in which we won 2 and france won 2
basically it was the most pointless war in the history of mankind
but overall win-loss ratio the UK smashed france in terms of the amount of war we have fought them . and won .
Waterloo , Trafalgar …need i go on (both being battles rather than wars )
our history with france is like one big never ending war with skirmishes here and there
