I am now at the “All that glisters” quest line, and sent to find out where the silver and quicksilver came from, inspect the mill and meet sir Ulrich. now, If I may ask, can I leave them aside and do some side quests and hunting for sport, or are they timed?
You can do side quests and hunting ofc.
Yeah, but without some shit happening in my absence?
It won’t. I am did the same.
got a bit scared after Reeky got deadified after me wasting time Hunting and whores riding…erm…horse…Definately horse…I swear.
Yeah I was also a bit disappointed by Pebbles look, especially when I saw that he was mine and Bernard got the cool looking black horse. I never really compared the stats of horses so I don’t really know which ones are good. Should I buy a new horse at Neuhof? Can you compare the stats before buying it? And are horses with better stats more expensive? I have about 1200 groschen right now, does it pay off?
Im at the point i need to go to find limpy. Also a great moment in the game to let loose. Kill some bandits pick some herbs shoot a deer etc …
He is always mad at you when you reach Neuhof… no matter what you do. You can just let him ride away and do whatever you want for however long you want. two weeks later you can roll into Neuhof and be like, “I’m here!” and he’ll say, “Grrr… grrr… get to work.”
Pebbles is the first horse in the game you get, and for free… now, let’s guess how likely it is, that Pebbles is awesme… XD
I believe Pebbles is the worst animal stats wise. and the other animals are more expensive, the better they are.
who is mad at you??
When you go to a horse-trader, they have 1 or more barns and pastures where their available horses are. You tell the trader you want to buy a horse and you’ll get the chance to examine them before you buy. Go to all the areas where the horses are, walk up to each of them. and you’ll get an option to check it out. If you don’t already own a horse, you’ll see only the stats of the horse for sale. If you’ve already got a horse, then you’ll see the stats of both your current horse and the available horse so you can see how pathetic your current ride is.
So, take note of 3 or 4 that you fancy, then go back to the trader and again do “buy a horse”. This time, say you’ve made your decision, and the trader will show a list of available horses and their prices. Pick one, haggle, ride away in style. While doing this, you’ll note that horses come in Tiers I-IV. The higher the tier, the higher the price and the higher the stats, but also the higher level of horsemanship you need to stay in the saddle.
At present, as long as no mounted enemies are chasing you, the only thing that really matters is carrying capacity (apart from your own ability to control the beast). We can’t talk to folks from horseback so I doubt having a high-tier, totally pimped horse does anything for your charisma or the various speech options. But of course, this is an RPG, and MY Henry wouldn’t be caught dead on a spavined old nag like Pebbles. He’s got to roll up at the bath house or tavern on a big stud horse with chrome horseshoes, expensively embroidered caparison, and nothing in the saddlebags but subwoofers
BTW, caparisons ARE horse armor. They all provide some protection vs. all forms of attack. Just not very much, kinda like Henry’s Gambeson. But something’s better than nothing and bling is bling
Thanks for the help!
At the moment my Henry is wearing a full chain mail armor paired with the Rattay tunic. I also gave Pebbles a Rattay uniform so that he fits my outfit and doesn’t look too pathetic. But you are right, I’ll replace him for a better model as soon as I can.
nah dude, I kept Pebbles all the way my first play through. Can’t give up poor pebbles lol
By the way, what happens to Pebbles for example if you buy a new horse? Can you sell your old horse or do you just lose it?
you can either sell/consume raw or, you can cook and then sell or consume
I know Reeky dies if you take too long to find him (what I mean is you’ll find him mortally injured). I did a second playthrough and knew where he was located, so I bypassed all of the hunting down his various locations, and found him alive and well. While we were talking, Runt’s thugs came and ambushed us.
It may be the same for Timmy and Ginger, but I haven’t tested it out.
Wait does that mean you have to butcher your old horse?
I havn’t had him die yet, but I don’t waste much time. I’ve had two experiences…one where it’s just Reeky and he wants me to kill him quick before the bandits show up, which I did, and another where the bandits attacked while I was there…I fought one, two took off after Reeky. I found them and killed them eventually but no sign of Reeky, not sure if he made it out alive or not
Oh idk, I was being dramatic…you probably just lose it. Its just a farm horse, probably not worth much but idk; I kept Pebbles on my first play through and dont have enough gold or enough care to worry about it in this play through yet…you can probably kill it though lol
