Too heavy system requirements

Hello there,

i have a problem: Obviously the graphic requirements of kingdom come are far to heavy for my GT430. This is the only game in my whole 100 game list that makes problems, everything else can be played at least at low settings and good resolution, here i have around 8-10 fps at lowest playable resolution and settings.
Is there no chance to give us poor students, who cant afford a new pc the possibility to further lower the settings? I am a funder since quite some time, this is the game i have most waited for since i began to play games at all and now i cant even make the sword fight lesson because of the low fps rate.
I cant imagine i am the only one, since there are many people without 1000€ in reserve for a PC, and a new graphic card would surely not be worthwile for this over 5 year old thing.

That card is way too weak to run a game like this. What you can do however, is tweak settings ijn the config files where you can set them even lower than the Low preset in game. That is if you are familiar with tweaking CryEngine games. Google it, many guides out there.

Well first off it’s an alpha. So optimization will not be the best for a while.

I’m running the alpha decently well on my pc which only costed me around 500 dollars, and its a 5 year old pc. You do not need to spend 1000 to be able to run the alpha.

Check out new egg. Here’s a gtx 760 on sale for 150 bucks. You could probably find even better deals if you searched for a while.

Thanks,
a new graphic card would probably be the only possibility to get more out of my pc, but i dont know if it is worth the money and if my pc is even able to use this card respectively what cards are useable at all.
I have a quadcore i5-2.8GHz processor, 8Mb RAM and Win7 64bit.

Its a good computer, but not the graphics card, what Power supply do you have and the motherboard?

I have a i5-2400 @ 3.1 Ghz with only 4 Gb RAM (yet), and - as you can see my backing status - couldn’t yet try out the game, but I had no problem with installing a 750 Ti and it helped considerably with other games. I guess it’s the same case with you: The bottleneck of the system is the GPU.

What are you guys getting with your rig?

FX 8350 and R9 270 and to be honest it runs crap with update 0.4

i think its a 550W one, i dont know which motherboard i use. How can i find it out?

You can either check online or when your computer is turning on it says, also it probably says on the motherboard if you look.

Download and run CPU-Z this will give you all the info on your CPU mainboard and memory.

TBH, with a title like “too heavy” and then you say you have a 430, I feel like telling you tough titty.
I tire so much hearing people whine about how its too heavy or too unoptimized almost every game seems to have this entitlement attitude people, do you think the devs are going to tone the game down just for you and make everyone else suffer? Do you want everyone else to suffer so get an easier ride?

How about you cut the rest of us some slack and save up like we did and buy a GPU that isnt 5 years old.

To be fair he is only asking for the ability to have an even lower ‘Low’ set of options, rather than reduce the IQ across the board for everyone. However, there has to be a cut-off somewhere, and feel the game scales for a reasonable cross section of PC configs already. It really is time to upgrade.

Obviously you didn’t read. As markjohn said i asked for the possibility to further lower the settings - even in lowest possible settings tha graphics are still better than in most games.
And i also said that this is the only game that makes problems like that, what should give me the right to ask for this or alternatively other possibilities to play the game, which have been given by some friendly players.

“Save up” is easy to say, but its not so easy to do when you are studying a science course in Germany without rich parents to pay for everything, don’t have the time to work properly and have other things to pay for

So i looked it up: It is an ASRock H67M. What do i have to consider when i want to buy a new graphic card?

Just a power supply, everything else seems to be good, what you want to consider is not bottle necking your computer which in this case you wouldnt.

Since you’re in Germany, I hope you know geizhals:

And just to emphasize your bottleneck:

Even the slowest cards on this list have more than thrice the memory bandwidth and more than 5 times the computing power of your GT 430

If you’re unsure about your power supply, check out the GT 750 (+Ti - take at least a 2GB card!), they don’t use significantly more power than your 430 (although they are massively more powerful) and should work with your PSU no matter what.

I would think a secondhand GTX670 or 690 would be a good partner for the rest of your PC. Here in the UK a GTX670 can be picked up for ÂŁ80-ÂŁ90. This should allow at least medium settings and frame rates of 40+.

I have decided for the geforce 750ti, it has good reviews and an acceptable price (even new at amazon).
Thank you very much for all the help, i really wouldn’t have thought that it is still worthwile to buy a new card

That’s still a very weak card. A GTX670 almost doubles the frame rate in many Crysis (CryEngine) benchmarks, and would cost less buying used. A 750ti would not be my choice for a graphically demanding game, but its up to you at the end of the day.
