Reminder that Germany is not a free country.

@snejdarek, I thought you said you lived in a free nation?

Well, personally think this should not be criminal, On the other hand, Germans murdered 360.000 of my countrymen and it is understandable that we don’t allow anybody to deny that fact.

Apart from plan to eradicate the Jewry, as regards Czechs in particular, Germans had plans that envisioned that 1/3 would be murdered, 1/3 would be used as slave workers (probably also castrated) and up to 1/3, after individual reviews, may be Germanized.

Given that, those 6 months to 3 years for intentional (knowing) denial of these athrocities seems to be more of a question of survival instinct than punishing idiots.

I figured.

Bans like this are always counter productive. Simply banning people for wrong think, is totalitarian, and generally ends up swaying people towards beliefs that you don’t want them to have.

90% of the time when i see holocaust denier arguments on the internet, their main line is “the truth fears no investigation”, and they almost always point to the fact that it’s illegal in so many countries to even deny that it happened.

And to be fair they are right, nothing should ever be above reproach or question. I’m not in anyway a holocaust denier, but banning people from doing so simply gives them ammunition.

Well we don’t have it this tough. It is not criminal to argue a counterpoint, it is criminal to knowingly lie that it did not happen. For that, the prosecution must establish that the person knew that he is lying, or that it is general knowledge that the point argued is not true, and that the fact that it is being lied about is well established and settled.

People should always have the right to be stupid and someone else should always have the right to call them a fucking idiot .

Makes the world turn smoother that way

Still stupid in my book, and still a violation of free speech. But at least you are not Germany where the police will raid your fucking house over anti migrant facebook posts.

WHat the fuck. The made up laugh ruins it, I even can’t watch it through.

Small step back for the Czech Republic, huge leap forward for KGB/FSB.

Is this coming from, Mr. “i very much believe in innocent until proven guilty” ?

If the standard for proof that you’re a Russian agent is the same in the Czech Republic as it is in America, then this man is most certainly a victim of a witch hunt, by butt hurt leftists who realise that they can now scream “Russian agent” at their opponents because screaming “racist” has lost its affect.

We know he worked for Czech communist secret service in 1980-1989. Files of all important communist spies were burned in 1989 when the communism fell, however there is information about his work for the secret police in 12 files of other lower ranking spies (i.e. those that were not important enough).

So there are basically three options as regards KGB.

  1. Either he was considered important for the Czechoslovak secret police only and KGB (FSB) does not have any file on him, i.e. the kind of file that was destroyed in Czechoslovakia in 1989. I consider that extremely unlikely.
  2. Or he was important for KGB too so they do indeed have COMPROMAT on him.
  3. Or, as was the practice at the time, he was not only Czech secret police spy, but was also working directly with KGB, as were many Czech foreign-based spies (Babiš was based in area of North Africa and Arabic countries). And there is no such thing as “former KGB agent”, at least not in the eyes of their Moscow masters.
