Haha. New update on NPCs and AI, actually sounds pretty useful for understanding the world around you. I like that you may not just walk up to a blacksmith who’s standing around waiting for you, or if you have a letter to give to someone he might be asleep if you come by at night. Little details like that are nice to know. I also noticed the part with the bow hunting did not have a crosshair or the dot you see while moving around in other spots. That’s good, I think.
Also a nice tease for the next video at the end!

Chasing around animals is totally going to be a passtime activity for me. Hope the shepherds will react to that as well, when you come back and all their sheep are gone, they’ll have a few things to say about that haha

Sounds really resource heavy though to keep track of every NPC+their pathing in the game but it will certainly be the first of its kind.
Also imagine what the modular way of NPC behavior means for modders. Bears with fishing rods anyone?
Best line in an interview ever. I love the NPC’s already, I hate it when every single NPC sees the player as the center of the universe, really seats me in the uncanny valley.

I expect the AI being very buggy as it is with every AI. Already saw a glitch in one of the videos
. But It’s amazing they put the effort in making something complex and something like a universal solution for AI. These things are the reasons why I’m interested in this game actually.

damn, they outdid themselves again. and i thought the combat video was interesting. imagine the quality and sophistication of these technologies they’re presenting extrapolated a further 1.5-2 years.
