So I started keeping the peace (the part where you have to wait for the nightingale) and started doing some other stuff leaving that for later, well at some point I murder someone (at least that’s what the guards say even tho I don’t remember killing anyone) and now I’m wanted in Rattay but I can’t go to jail as it’s game over and I can’t finish the keeping the peace mission as all the guards attack me so basically I can’t go to Rattay and I can’t progress the main story which sucks. There must get be a way around it but I haven’t found one yet so I ended up (after hours of trying to get past it) reloading my save and lost a good 15-20 hours of progress which sucks. So pretty much finish keeping the peace as soon as you start it and hopefully this stops other people losing a bunch of progress. Also if your wondering why I didn’t reload immediately I thought once my strength or speech was high enough I could talk my way out of it but I couldn’t.
Pay indulgences.
If on PC get & use cheat mod and set your wanted level to none if you ain’t got the coin for an indulgence.
Or just wait about a week in game for your bounty to drop off. Go visit another region…go learn to read…come back later.
you will fail the mission if you wait that out. the mission does have a time limit.

I tried waiting it said I failed but then it said rejoin the nightingale to continue the tour or something like that and I couldn’t pay it off as it was murder i also waited days (in real life of playing the game) but the wanted status never left, oh and I’m on ps4 so no cheats 
no money for an indulgence too? not a mod but a pay box in a church., not a Chapple.
I didn’t know you can do that, does it get rid of your wanted level completely then? Also is it only in that town or for all towns?
not sure if all rep ( it might). but at least you’ll be ok in Rattay.

That’s all I need is to be able to finish the quest, I’ll try it out and thank you so much you just saved me from losing a lot of progress 
Also side note but for some reason I can’t unlock the traveler achievements even tho I have visited/unlocked all the places I need. Any chance you know why?
So I tried the indulgence and it didn’t work can you tell me exactly what it’s meant to do?
Improve your rep for the area. Wasn’t sure about wanted ( worth a try any who)
Since you are on a console,other than paying for the crime or back saving . it sadly looks you are S.O.L.
BTW my PC isn’t the greatest either. I run depending on where I am 8-35 fps in borderless and 1920x1080. Only real drag is the big battles , 5-11 fps. but I mange thru.
Yep looks like I have to reload cuz I can’t pay the guards for murder so I got a lot of work ahead of me oh well I enjoyed the game enough to play it 2 times I’m sure I can play it again lol thanks for trying to help anyways

Don’t pay guards, they can suck your tooth with that money. You either go to jail or pay indulgences which are in churches and monastery.

How come? Let them catch you.
I think the Devs could implement an option on the configuration menu where you can activate/deactivate automatic saves based on time played like 5/10/15/20/25/30 minutes or keep it deactivated for immersion sake…
A second option would be the consumption of savior schnapps automatically after 30 minutes of playtime.
As a third option, a pop-up remainder at every 30 minutes of playtime.
Is any of this a good idea?
I’m more on the side of “you play the game in the way you want”, them be stucked by a limitation imposed by developer…
