We NEED a female warrior Protagonist!

The speed at which Henry comes to power is a stretch, yes. Until you realise just how fast you can become a good enough fighter to survive a battle if you don’t rush headlong. And if you have the proper armor. That said, it is still a stretch until you finish the main story and then everything makes more sense.

A female would be a great companion or supporting character, but otherwise would fail to be enthralling for 90% of the people who would buy a game like this. It would require way more work or effort then what it is worth to warhorse and to many of the fans. Lady Steph is manipulative and amazing, yes. And so is Theresa, but lets be honest. Most people would not enjoy their stories as a playable character and it would honestly not be worth our time playing due to the heavy restrictions placed by the time period.

The only realistic ideal is a lower born noblewoman manipulating a male relative or her husband to gain greater power for herself and family.

And, lets be honest, that would make a great book but a bad video game and bussiness descision. You have other options to rp a strong female character in a medieval like era. Mount and Blade bannerlord will be one.

thank you. the speed is a stretch. but that’s a large part of the game.

fine armor (curiass, etc) and swords weren’t easy things to acquire. another stretch.

yes, peasant woman. huge stretch. noble woman? maybe. but i trust Daniel Vavra et al could make it work (they are truly a creative lot) if they had the desire and inclination. if they don’t, fine. it’s their prerogative.

Okay I think this discussion is going a bit in circles. A female character based (badass or not) medieval stoty can definitely be interesting if not a bit controversial in certain areas but THAT IS NOT KCD. This game DOES have action and require you to get involved in combat in some way at various points of the story. Essentially the ppl asking for a female char want an entirely new game with an entirely different plot and setting. At that point, it’s pointless going for a regular woman trying to rise in rank with no combat and who ever is making sych a game should just go for a historical figure instead. Of course a studio like telltale can pull it off I think, which I agree would be an amazing game probably.
Hence, this discussion is barely even related to KCD.

From what little I read about my home country’s history, she did actually lead men on the battle field. I can’t see how someone on the battle field can’t or doesn’t know to fight. She may not have been briann of tarth(I’m sure I butchered the spelling :stuck_out_tongue: ) but neither is Henry.

You’re talking about sex, im talking about dynasty. Gotta marry highborn for a legitimate heir

Joan or Isabella? Joan did lead men yes, and carry a banner, but there is no evidence that she fought.

I played far enough so no worries  .Those two characters are definitely great personalities and I’m sure their stories might be written amazingly too but it definitely won’t fit well in the main part of the game. If this was say released by someone big and lots of money, that could have definitely have been a great spinoff looking at the demand from ppl but unfortunately this comes froma humble, relatively small studio.

Ohh sry have no clue about European history. I’m really really weak at History  I was talking about Rani Jhansi Lakshmi Bai.

indeed we dont, only that person needs it. please warhorse, do not cater to those people. It never ends well. Example star wars.

“Not in this story it’s not. You should really finish before you comment further.” really? with a basic lesson in swordplay under one’s belt (in Skalitz), you think someone could actually infiltrate a battle tested Cuman camp and kill one or more? Henry in the game can do so before even receiving more structured training in Rattay. why do i have to finish KCD to evaluate the feasibility/plausibility/realistic nature of this actual in game experience? again, the game is great but it takes artistic liberties with reality

pure realism and immersion don’t exist. if peeps are to have a productive dialogue, the discussion should be around what are the thresholds that matter and why.

We by no means “need” a female protagonist. Could we have one? Sure, under the right contexts.

It was not entirely uncommon to find female assassins during this time period (or really any time period for that matter). Being an assassin (at least a good one) does not typically involve open combat, and due to women being viewed as less of a threat and having and easier time moving through cities unnoticed, they actually made for fairly good assassins. There are a number of recorded assassinations by women using poison tipped daggers to kill nobles and even kings.

Women in open combat roles was extremely rare for this time and place, but again their are a number of recorded cases, where extraordinary women did join official armies. There are even records of female bandits, though they typically used other means to ger close to their victims, rather than just starting off with open combat.

It would be interesting if it was a storyline that forced you to be more stealthy and more so avoid open combat, or at least find ways to gain an advantage before engaging in open combat.

So again does it have to happen? By no means. But could it be done? Yes, if well thoughout. You c ant just throw a female main character in without a second thought, and they cannot by any means be treated similarly to the main character. It was odd enough that our main character has been so well treated for being a peasant (heck we were given a freaken horse, that is astounding), but to then have a peasant women also be treated as henry has, would just be unheard of (she would need to prove her self a lot more).

Yeah, but how are the childbirth and drudgery minigames?

This is so untrue on so many levels. You must remember that during this time period women did not have a choice in who they married. And there was no marrying for love. If a king went to a noble and asked to marry their daughter, the nobles family would likely say yes in a second (assuming they wanted to have their family merge with the monarchy, which most nobles do).

It doesnt matter if the king is some deformed old man, the woman cant say no, and the family is mainly interested in gaining more power for itself. This is the main reason most nonle families would not permit their daughters to marry a man in a lower class than them, because then the females family would gain nothing.

the machinations of the nobility and the rich were a real thing from from Spain to Japan. and as women were often the bridge in such activities, this (to me) is the source of the most credible and compelling female character narrative set in medieval times

No, what we need is less feminism and people who are offended by the color of their car tires.

If you dont like the game dont play and come back when it had been fully patched and or broken with mods if they allow that in the future.

I don’t think anybody said they don’t like the game, you know, that’s why we are here. I do agree hoewever that the priority should be patching and fixing the game, but adding another character after that could be a nice addition.

tru…badour

Dont listen to this guy in that video he already has another video shitting on the game saying this game is like no mans sky and the facial animation is like Mass effect Andromeda now he is trying to suggest this for the game, I dont know what he is trying to do.

here is that other video of this guy i mentioned he has no idea what he is doing and has no gaming experience

Are you trying to self promote in a very untactful manner?

If it was a story about a nonle woman it woukd be nothing but politics, there would be absolutely no fighting (stealth or otherwise). Nobility just simply didnt get involved in that kind of stuff. Heck noble men didnt even fight very often, neither did their sons, they would much rather risk the lives of their peasant soliders than fight themselves. Not to say they never fought, but it was certainly less often that one might think.

I would actually argue the very opposite of you. The most compelling and interesting story would be that of an orphaned peasant girl. She would be extremely unlikely to end up a knight. But she could be made an assassin. Orphane girls were the most common to become prostitutes, and prostitutes would at times end up becoming assassins. Make these types of girls assassins made it so that a) they could get close to male targets very easily (even kings), and b) they were far more disposable if anything went wrong (no family to care about them).
