Why cant i sprint?

Is this a glitch or is there something i am missing. My weight is 66/105 so i am not encumbered, i am at full health with no injuries, there arent even any status effects to sujest why i wouldnt be able to run.

I have tried restarting the game and it also hasnt fixed it. Is there something about not being anle to run if you have certain armour on or if your shoes or something are broken (which i just recently fixed my shoes so i dont think it would be that).

I just want to confirm that i am not miasing something before reporting this as a gitch.

Edit: problem sort of solved. It turns out that if you have a spear equiped you cant run. And for some reason a spear has magically equiped to me. Originally it wasnt even out for me to use so i had no idea it was equiped. Then when i droped it and picked it back up was in my hands and i could not holser it or anything (which of course gets you in trouble with gaurds). At this point i am starting to regret ever picking this thing up and thinking i will not pick up a spear ever again. The worst part is a cant even sell it for what ever reason, it doesnt appear in the options for selling things, but yet my equiped sword appears, so i guess spears are just unsellable? Either way it is now dropped for eternity and i can run again, thank goodness.

Are you walking or running? I noticed that I cannot sprint when “set to walking mode”. It’s the TAB-button that toggle that for me. PC player obviously. :slight_smile:

I am on xbox and it is just press and hold B to run, but when i do that it doesnt sprint, it will do the little thing where it kind of has your head face the direction of whatever path you are on, but stamina doesnt go down, and you dont move any faster.

Is there no setting on the console to toggle walk/run on/off?

I had this and started unequipping and re-equipping items. Came across a spear that I apprantly had equipped in my inventory.

Once I dropped it I could sprint again. Was very strange.

Evidently, polearms are like scissors, not to be run with

Nope, it is either you are walking or you hold B to run. Nothing in settings or anything anout walking/running.

Oh thank you i have a spear equiped as well, though it isnt actually on me and i cant unequip it. If i drop it i can run again hut as soon as i pick it up it auto equips for some reason and i cant run again.

Yes it turns out i have a soear invisibly equip to me, cant actually wield it or unequip it but i can drop it, hoping i can sell it.

Are you on Xbox? They just released a patch and somehow I think it interfered with my game. I got this weird spear glitch, then was riding my horse as though I was in a side car attached to it before the game finally crashed and informed me of the patch. All within 5 minutes.

I’ve tried sell hot ones from guard stations and looted ones from bandits/Cuman to Miller Peshek. No dice. Never had one invisibly equipped :flushed:

I remember picking up the actual spear during a a bandit attack but it went all weird and dropped itself and just floated in mid air. It wasn’t until 15 minutes later this spear seemed to come back to haunt me.

My weirdest floating/levitation bug is being knocked off horse during a fight with a bandit. After I got up off the ground, I lost contact with the ground. At one point, was able to float about 4m in the air

Yes :grin: but when I levitated above horse (after killing them with bow) and hit mount button, I fell to my death :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Spears and polearms can’t be stored in your inventory, they can only be equipped by picking them up off the ground and while equipped you cannot sprint. Think of them like heavy weapons in a shooting game like Halo. You having the spear equipped is why you couldn’t sprint.

Ok, no running but at least a scamper should be possible

I had no indication I was carrying a spear though. I could run around fine, I had no weapon in my hand and my visor was up which usually is down when holding a spear. It wasn’t till I looked through my inventory that i saw I had one equipped. I only went through my inventory because I randomly was unable to sprint for no good reason.

If i dropped it and then picked it up it would then show it in my hands (although i could not jolster it for some reason). But before that it wasnt actually visable on, which is why i hadnt gotten in trouble with the gaurds and had no idea it was on me. And ya just tried selling it and i couldnt, makes no sense, of all things why cant i sell a spear?

Yup exact same thing happened to me, and you cant seem to sell spears so i just dropped it (which really sucks).
