not really a weapon to use in 1v1 combat, but in a battle they hold important role when fighting cavalry.
If you google pictures of Hussites you can see a lot of spears. So, if KCD is to be realistic, there should be spears in the game.
Whether or not will you be able to fight with them is another matter.
I think spear is the best 1v1 weapon out there

well… might be… i am no expert.
Though, if we imagine how could spear work in the actual game, I do not really think it would have much success.
In other games that include fighting with spears there is this effect, they are really strong after you learn how to use them (and it does takes a while) but the fighting style is pretty dull.
Also there is difference in how skilled the fighers are and in what environment they fight.
So if someone with shortsword fights against someone with longer weapon he is clearly in disadvantage,
But when the man with shortsword lures his oponent in place that restricts the movement of enemy’s weapon, he is then in clear advantage.
But I do acknowledge that my comment about 1v1 was not appropriate as I know almost nothing about these things.
Seems like the guy with the sword needs to advance forward and close the gap. He’s standing right in the sweet spot for someone with a spear.

Spears are difficult to get around. Even in full armor spears are a nightmare to fend off, and having a whole range of combat around you leaves very little space to close the gap.
