Xbox One X visuals - this can't be right

I have been playing through the tutorial and i love the story and atmosphere but man, the visuals are hard to stomach. I’m not expecting high end graphics on a game with a relatively modest budget. However, the difference between a mid range PC and the Xbox X is sometimes staggering. This is either an extremely lazy port or a bug. For instance, indoors shadows are completely gone and the lighting totaly flat. I mean, seriously? This should have looked better on a normal Xbox (minus the resolution), let alone the X. This video is a good demonstration:

I’m not sure i wanna continue playing. Might hold off in the hopes of betterment in later patches. there’s probably a million other bugs waiting to be fixed in an open world game…

I’m as well dissaponted, I wasn’t expecting spectacular graphics but man they are little too ugly for me. I still playing it on my Xbox x but there i s a lot to disare. A lot bugs…this is an incomplete game that should not been sold. I’m so dissaponted that I wish I could get a REFUND.

Wow you mean to tell me PC on ultra looks better than a 500 dollar console?

No, a high-end PC should look better than a console, that’s not the issue (longer viewing distances, sharper shadows, higher framerates etc). My issue is that the game in some aspects - on consoles - looks worse than a 10 year old game. I don’t mind the blurry textures that much, i understand making high quality assets costs money and an open wolrd game needs lots of assets but again, stuff like the complete lack of shadows indoors is baffling. An Xbox 360 should be able do that, a 6 terraflops machine definitely should be able to do that. Something went wrong here, certainly…

I was really impressed with xb1x gfx to be honest. have you got the d1 patch applied?

there is no clear answer yet but from what I can see Xbox One really didnt get the Day 1 update which changes the game a lot - improves graphics, cutscenes, fixes many bugs… the game looks fine on xbox one x but it does not compare how it looks on PC on high settings, its not right. Still waiting for some confirmatiion from Warhorse. Tweet from Dan suggest that day one patch for Xbox is build with 118 , everyone on Xbox has 108 right now

I’m not at home to look but i mean, there’s only one patch, right? It was that one huge patch. Should be the patch everyone is talking about.

How do you crouch? The game didn’t tell me…

Your expectations must be too high then because they look great to me

push left stick in to crouch

Same here. I can live with the low resolution textures, but I’m really missing interior shadows.

I wish they add a 1080p mode with a little better graphic quality.

My expectations are definitely not too high if you have been reading my posts.

well… I have direct comparision with PC version on modest specs (notebook with 1060) and I have seen the difference the day one patch makes. If people started getting build 118 its great. I am still checking for updates with negative results. It takes some time for stuff to propagate to all regions on xbox live.

Yeah that should not been sold.
But your EA and Ubisoft or CDPR games are all 100 percent bug free or what? :joy:

It seems like most pc players don’t get it (i own a gaming pc aswell) it’s not that everyone expected 4k 60fps on the xbox one x but we where promised specific enhancements that are simply missing when you compare the ps4 pro and xbox one x. One of the most obvious is enhanced global illumination. The ps4 pro and xbox one x version look exactly the same. This is what we where promised: "Currently, it surely is the most powerful console. In general, it allows us to use 1440p resolution, top quality Global Illumination, more and better shadows, better lighting and LOD distances compared to the regular Xbox One. "
Considering that the game even laggs and framerate goes down to 18fps in talmberg on a Gtx 1080ti, it looks like they had to downgrade the graphics quiet a bit, so i am still optimistic that they can fix at least the lod issues on xbox one x when they fix the performance.

No the gamesize with the day 1 patch is 40-50 gb right now everyone on xbox only got a game that is about 25 gb in total. there are 2 day 1 patches 1 which was the base game and was about 22 gb and then the day 1 patch witch is about 26 gb.

It looks really great on my X on my 4K TV, even though it’s running at 1440p. I don’t have the day one patch, but I think that’s going to help with a lot of things.

Sounds like you don’t understand at all. After all PC already have high quality textures. Issue is not quality of assets created by developers. This is about hardware, I didn’t check but I wouldn’t suprised if textures in PC low settings are smaller resolution. Or are you claiming textures in PC ultra settings are blurry.

Indoor shadows, textures etc. they are all releated to hardware capacity. Consoles are not powerful machines, they were already out of date when they released.
