90+ Hours of my life gone

@Flashfire
Ok, back up your saves. Check. But still…

Charging triple A pricing on a game where the save mechanic is broken…then jumping on the forums and making it sound as if its the consumers fault for not backing up the save files. Come on now. Then all the fan boys getting mad when unhappy customers rip the game. People come to these forums to vent because there is nothing they can do until the patch comes out so lay the blame where it belongs, with the devs.

Good luck @buffaskunk

And all I’m saying, @Hexxem, is that yes - there are some issues that are being worked on. Things are not perfect. That doesn’t mean people should just be trying to play the game like normal on consoles when people have reported save files getting corrupted. It’s always a good idea to back up your saves just in case, but now it’s more important than ever if you don’t want to risk losing your progress.

KNOWING THAT, you can’t just blame the game/console/whoever 100% if you choose not to back your saves up and then lose them. Some of that is still on you.

The price complaint, at this stage, is simply pointless to get into. If this was just the cash grab you seem to think it is, they wouldn’t care about trying to fix the problems.

You are welcome to vent. First line of first post indicated you like game.
Maybe you are getting more frustrated (possibly by hanging out here and taking a victim mentality that the game has been sold too early from reading angry posts from those representing their game issues)

I am more broke than you (would be my guess).
The solution suggesting to plug is a flash drive for save backup is sound. Making out that that is a cost when you yourself declare that you have some… seems silly.
The suggestion is sound. Couldnt you move contents from one of those to a temp location to allow you to backup.
(Us money poor people are usually time rich)
Given a typical cheap flashdrive is a few dollars and if you have none spare but need one… hmmm

Anyhow the reason I write is now is a great time to prep your system for future smoothness (if you are not presently playing it).

A lot of graphical pop issues (low texture) slower loading etc (after patch) is generated by users having hugely fragmented files.
Now is a great time to do some housekeeping on your playstation to create a large free continuous chink if drive space to uninstall and reinstall the game onto.

Yes, preempting a whinge about 2mbit internet… maybe backup your game file to an external source (oh no a hard drive is an extra cost, do you already have one?) then after playstation cleanup, restore from the backup. Should put all files together for much easier ingame asset stream/faster loading etc

I prolly wont check back in thread.
I have empathy for your loss, truly, or I wouldnt have written anything. But I saw the tone of teply to others who cared enough to post l, so…

Thanks, man, a further update on the process is that I was able to recover one save. Now instead of 55 hrs gone its just 5 hrs. Microsoft locks a lot of features that let me actually look at and manipulate the files and I think it is not detecting the files that won’t load as corrupted which is unnerving to say, lol. My only guess is that it has taken these files and made them part of the backup which means that they can’t be restored. This process is much more complicated and automated then it should be. From what I read they have made it impossible to do manual backups of the saves for Xbox at least which further complicates this. Hmmm… idk I am kind of out of my depth here and maybe I am wrong… it’s very possible haha. Alright, you guys take care, thanks for the helpful advice.

@Flashfire
You’re joking right? the price complaint is pointless? That’s laughable. It’s all about the money. Spending your hard earned money on something and not getting what you paid for is what all the mess on these forums are about. When you charge premium price on a game, it’s reasonable for consumers to expect, ummmm, the save mechanic to work. If this game was free do you really think all this would matter? Didn’t think so.

100% the devs fault. No one else.

what platform are you playing on?

Yes, it’s pointless because as it’s been said elsewhere around here (not to mention beyond this forum alone), it’s routine these days for games to release in what’s technically an unfinished state because work is often still being done once they’ve gone gold. Release dates are set and publishers expect them to be met without additional delays. As a result, day-one patches are frequent, as are updates early in the life of the game and beyond.

Companies aren’t going to drop the price of games just because of that, especially when the plan is to support them further. It’s not like it was when you bought Ocarina of Time and that was that. There were no updates to fix bugs or improve one thing or another, and games today are a lot more complex and complicated than they were then, so in an online-based world this is commonplace and it’s happened with games that cost a lot more with far more marketing and focus placed on them than this one.

If you don’t want to spend $60 on a game that needs fixes, wait for some time to go by and the price to drop, which should mean early issues have also been solved, or get it used from somewhere else. Otherwise, suck it up and be patient. In the meantime, back up your saves.

Also, a little newsflash for you: people complain about things when the games are free, as well.

Hexxem your tirade seems to stem from not understaning the nature of the games industry.

I wont argue with you on the fronts that many no doubt have already tried. (The game has excellent developers who are working nonstop to make this game the best), (consoles arent usually platforms for beta testing en masse for a PC game/kickstarted project so they are bound to have a few more issues ‘temporarily’), (yes game is fit for sale as many are having a great old time with it)…

But lets look at your concept of being ripped off an imaginary amount of money, that you imply, whilst hijacking others threads, to state this game shouldnt have top dollar billing.
You put forward it isnt a AAA title and hence shouldnt have the price to match…

We have a whole lot of loose and assumed definitions going on here.
AAA title-these launch with massive bug lists fairly regularly, especially open world non linear games.
RPG games especially so. Sure you bought witcher (part 3), or Skyrim (Elder Scrolls 5) after they were famous and didnt experience their day one bugs or 'massively patched versions… so you are not comparing apples to apples.

This notion that any developer that isnt the biggest studio- should not sell their fames for market prices is silly.
Most non AAA (again an fairly undefined term) have limited scope and or short playtimes. Few have voice acting or orchestrated soundtracks (by an orchestra).
These things cost.
Any multiyear project requiring teams of people is probably right to charge more than ‘indie’ (whilst we are on a roll with undefined terms, why not?) prices.

Make no mistake Kingdom Come Deliverance is the full fat package. Its price is fair, niggles in perspective, par for the course (open world roleplayong games for first few months of release).

The difference? The devs care and havent just moved on to making payed for expansions. (Typical realm of AAA titles)

From what I have seen and played I already have ‘value for money’; and I no doubt will still be firing this up years from now. (Assuming the world still works-modern day earth I am talking about)+

Clearly when none of us speak the same language it is a barrier.
Hexxenn how would you define this game as falling short of the AAA titles? Advertising budget?
What price, assuming game is made to work, do you think is fair game for this, erm, game?

in this case at least it’s sony’s fault for having deficient hardware. if there’s any blame put on devs, it’s that they trusted consoles to be able to run a game as complex as this correctly. 90% of the complaints are from console players.

This game is 60 bucks. What do you do if your car has a safety recall? Yes, maker sold a defective product. What happens next (severe inconvenience or major disaster) is largely up to you

Not completely buying that. WH made decision to sell for PS4. FO4 quick save corruption on PS4 was known to public for a long time. WH QA should’ve done a better job stress testing PS4

Had irl stuff to do. Lets continue.

Keep hearing how great the developers are. They were so great that they didn’t stress test the save mechanic on console? Really? You would think that the ability to save a game would be something to look at.

All the fanboys are trying to justify the price point. At the current state of the game it wasn’t worth $60 bucks. They knew it, and if they didn’t, they were…well, fill in the blank. They put out a game that wasn’t ready. And the fanboys are making it worse by trying to blame the consumer.

If this wasn’t a #cashgrab why are they not offering refunds to unhappy customers. I tried to get one but couldn’t. You’re probably going to say they need to pay the staff. Ok, they sold 1 million copies. Maybe 1/3 of that would request refunds and they would still have plenty left to pay the staff. But you know what, it’s never going to happen, because, dundundah, IT’S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!

Yes reductionist arguments that support your argument whilst rejecting constantly, facts that fly against you.
No worries- you are a rage and flame war master.
You win your objective reality beats out my subjective reality.

You lump everyone not saying what you want to hear as “fanbois”.
Most people, left to their own devices, can figure out this stuff for themselves.

Ignoring salient points and rehashing everywhere your subjective view might reveal whobis fanatical.

I am not paid by the company, didnt back the kickstarter and paid full price (and have asked Microsoft and EA for refunds for titles so broken they couldnt start… and never suceeded.
I vote with my wallet: sometging I encourage all consumers to do.

Nothing changes this game veing a piece of art and arguably cheap at that. (PaxMan for $60 for Atari in the seventies isnt the most expensive fame I have bought-NeoGeo games around $400 a pop were (back in cartridhe days).

But for those unfamiliar with modern open world rpgs having bugs and niggles on launch- standard affair.

Test programs often run with limited configuration builds. Their playstations wouldnt have had fragmented drives or post retail patches.
Accidents happen ; just look to Win 10.
Unlike Microsoft Warhorse are ethical and commited and constantly striving to do better.

Arhuing vehemently everywhere that the product is ‘tge worst’ is a lie. It is way better than many AAA titles teleased in many years, some of them with way less scale and way more budget. Wgose studios lavked the commitment of Warhorse to ongoingly support there present product.

But clearly you wont be honest (to yourself) and acknowledge that you just wish you had bought this title on sale at a later date.

Stop trying to bring others around to your viewpoint when you are so obviously biased.

I believe what we are picking up- the consensus of many of these threads- is that people love the game and are heartbroken when they have to redo parts.

In perspective - I never did main quesy lines in skyrim or oblivion (bethesda arent ’ all that’) and the grim story line of the witcher series isnt my goto fantasy frolic (even though I render at ultra with delux hairworks) even having read the books growing up.

Kingdom Come is something brilliant and we are all invested in it.

Turnnot to constructive feedback, printed once in a relevant channel and you start to be a part of the solution, and not problem.

This game isnhaving small issues blown wayboit of proportion, and being a small studio: could prove their demise.

The irony being we love the game world- hence all the passion.

I have 65 hours gameplay on PC and I’ve enabled Steam cloud sync as well but at the moment I can’t load any of my saved games. I’m on patch 1.2.5. too so don’t get your hopes up I guess. This was a common bug in beta phase and the fact that it’s still ingame is pretty much the worst thing ever.

1- So basically since you have had a good experience with the game everyone else’s doesn’t matter? Facts that fly against me? Like what explain. You used a lot of big words without really saying anything.

2- It’s my opinion, and exactly, people with will decide for themselves.

3- As for being fanatical, no one likes the feeling of being ripped off.
Again big words without saying anything. Salient points? What salient points. Explain.

4- Not paid by the company. Are you sure. You seem to chime in when someone trashes the game. In regards to voting with your wallet, good for you. I tend to voice my opinion.

5- Sure, it’s a masterpiece that some cant play. Great!

6- Standard affair or not. It’s a business practice that should be done away with. They aren’t paying us to beta test for them.

7- I understand bugs are par for the course, but a broken save mechanic is just beyond ridiculous.

8- So ethical they sold a game they KNEW wasn’t ready. Buy it now we’ll fix it later? How bout, hey, give me the game now and ill pay you $60 when it works. Come on. What’s good for the goose.

9- Never said it was the worst as you can see in my first post. It’s a great game that wasn’t ready.
It may have been great for you but it was not for some.

10- Of course I wish I would have bought it a little later. Hindsight is 20/20.

11- Biased. Of course, I was sold a defective product. And people can make up their own minds. (see Line 2)

12- It’s a love hate thing. For the people that got to play it love and for those that can’t, well.

13- Constructive feedback, sure. Give unhappy customers refunds. It’ll fix everything.

14- Small issues blown out of proportion? Jebus, are you sure you don’t work for them? Get real dude.

15- I really couldn’t tell you cause my game broke. And the passion is from feeling ripped off.

PS. Sorry for hijacking your thread king810 but all these WH employees trying to justify everything wrong with this game and trying to blame the victim was rubbing me the wrong way.

My dads dad did that to a horse back in the day and knocked it out lol animal cruelty when will we ever learn

I heard u can jail break with those things

Yes I only had problems on Xbox quest related was near the end game quest don’t know quest name don’t wanna be a spoiler

Never upload to cloud the walls have :eyes: s

or backup your saves onto usb (checking they load before overwriting the previous backup) everytime you save so if something goes wrong you can just delete and transfer your backup over?

When did gamers forget about backing up save games?
