Lockpicking is quite easy actually. Maybe you should read the description of how it works if you didnât already. i got the grasp of it right after the tutorial. There are other approaches to the game. You donât need to be a thief to enjoy it and if your only complain is that lockpicking is too hard for an $80 game, it makes me think that you only focus on that, thus you probably would be happier with any stealth-oriented game. I donât know how many lockpicks would a person broke on real life before learning how to do it properly, but probably a lot of them. Otherwise, you could try it yourself and tell us all if it is more complicated or easier than in the game.

lol. So what should i do with my try to lockpick on 5th hour of gameplay? refund? Try it on ps4 (version on ps4 btw have MUCH more problems even without lockpicking)
5th hour and you are complaining about lock picking. What ever about the bugs.

I hated the lockpicking at first. It took me 30 minutes to pick my first lock on xbox one. I almost threw my controller through the window and I mean that quite literally. I kept practicing because Iâm a stubborn fool and it suddenly just clicked. I now love the fact that it was truly hard at first and I actually had to keep trying and trying. It took me back to games long ago when I knew it couldnât be impossible and had to just keep working at something. I hope they donât change itâŠ

Lockpicking isnât too bad for me right now. Just make sure you train the skill with the millers first if youâre struggling, then get these two perks: âLasting Lockpicksâ and âLuck of the Drunkâ. âLuck of the Drunkâ enables you to tackle âHardâ and âVery Hardâ lock with a low lockpicking skill, while âLasting Lockpicksâ is just a quality of life perk which helps with all locks. While I havenât tried the âPadfoot Potionâ yet, the description says that it increases your lockpicking skill (along with other thieving skills), so you could also invest in a few of those.
Hopefully this helps a few people out, as lockpicking with a PS4 controller is not as difficult as it seems and there are ways to work around it. At the end of the day, you (as a player) will get used to how lockpicking works as well, and how best to rotate the two joysticks in the minigame to avoid breaking the lockpicks.
As a side note, I only have 8 Lockpicking right now, and Iâve been able to overcome the âVery Hardâ locks to the Armourer and Swordsmithâs chests and stolen all of their inventories. Just remember lockpicking creates a noise that NPCs will investigate, and that itâs sometimes best to knock out a few isolated NPCs in order to safely pick a few door or chest locks without being spotted. You can also pickpocket keys from the shopkeepers while theyâre sleeping, although that game mechanic is extremely âluckâ based and can be very unreliable, so make sure to save before attempting that.
Will it fix the crashing issues? Almost every other hour or so of playing it decides to crash. Iâm on Xbox One btw
I thought this was going to be about corrupted saves etc⊠But still amoungst people with broken games there are people complaining about trivial things such as lock picking. Im on xbox and last night i picked 5 âvery hardâ locks. My skill is 10 and a drank a padfoot potion to make it easier. Potion lasts 5 minutes and i literally found 5 very hard locks and picked them before it ran out. Keep rotating left stick in a circle and keep putting right stick in sweet spot.
Besides all of this⊠Lockpicking is NOT essential to the game. Its a side action
Dont reload after practicing. This game doesnât reward you for reloading. You are meant to try, fail, learn, try again. Once you get ti skill 1 or 2 its easy to pick very easy and easy locks. If you are trying to never break a pick, youâll probably never learn how to do it.
