Blood and Gore.? Post here if you want it!

Yes, I want Blood and Gore and screaming wounded and all the horror of war.
Yes, I am a desensitized video game violence-addicted psychopath and proud of it.

blood and gore should be in this game, and there also should be an option to enable or disable this feature, for the faint-hearted people.

faint hearted people shouldn’t play mature rated games. i believe there’s even laws against selling m-rated games to minors in some states. probably would be best if they stuck with angry bird or candrycrush.

That would be awesome

YES, blood and gore is ok, makes it more realistic - but it should be able to turn on and off the violence for the younger player and the player who dont like that.

that would be a fair solution for all, or maybe a special “bloodpatch” is available for the playe who wants it more realistic.

if their vision entails realistic gore, they shouldn’t compromise. i don’t think they will lose business for it, because many extremely violent games still sell extremely well, even among little kids(grand theft auto franchise comes to mind)

as long as it doesn’t cross over into an unrealistic amount of blood and guts i’d be fine with some gore in the game. you could also put in a setting to turn off blood and gore for the people who didn’t want to play with it on.

I just want to do a character like vlad the impaler. Beheading my enemies and and serving them to their families or better make a human scarecrow out of them. :3

Why finish them off? Im pretty sure some wild animals will just come and eat them.

I think blood and gore was a really big part in medieval life. So it should be a important part of this medieval game too.

i think that pretty clearly there needs to be a proportionate realistic blood and gore system. if you don’t like the idea, why are you supporting a game whose main draw is realism? obviously injuring a bloke in full plate or maile or a thick arming jacket shouldn’t be like 300, but against a relatively unarmored opponent, with a longsword, amputation of limbs is not entirely preposterous. there are also certain blows which would be reasonably likely to take off a head. to those arguing its an infantile request, i would argue that the point isn’t gore porn, its that it gives a sense of realism to the non fatal casualties of war. furthermore, many historical manuals note that it was common for people to lose fingers, eyes, noses, ears etc. (i believe particularly in polish saber duels) and the most common ending of a fight. what i would really like to see is blood physics on swords. if you stab someone and they die and then go to fight their companion, it would be awesome to have blood drops coming off the blade as you swung

This would be fantastic, great link mofo!

I would like gore but it really depends on how it is done and if it fits with WH design and vision of the game.
A somewhat realistic model of violence would be very nice but if it detracts from the game it wont be worth it.

I would wait and see what the direction the devs are leaning and want to go and maybe add in a slider that allows a level of gore that the player may want.

nasty, brutish and short does sum it up. (hobbes)

Did someone say
 Gore?

Yes please, but make it accurate and believable. Who wants there to be nothing if an arm, leg, or head comes off?

How could it detract from the game? The goal here is realism, so why not make it as real as possible?

Well, I agree with you more or less, but
I’ve seen some ugly sht due to my job, a guy whom received several wood-cutting axe hits in head and torso, among other examples, and it’s not pretty or bloodless at all. Torso/extremities wounds don’t bleed like in movies, but they still create splashings on the walls and floor. If it’s enough to kill the guy, I would say he’ll lose pretty much enough blood to cover patch of floor he has fallen into (a quarter to half a liter maybe?).

well, for example if you slit someones throat i wouldn’t mind seeing some blood beeing spilled, but apart from that blood and gore should be used very carefully so it doesnt get ridiculous. after all its supposed to be a serious game with a mature story and not a zombie slasher like dead island. with an excessive use of blood, executing a convict would feel no different than killing someone in one on one combat.

Listen, it will be perfect as long as realism is the goal, we should not scale it up or down in any way. So no blood fountains, but also, no pretending the human body only holds half a cup. Realistically, a lot of blood will spill, if you cut someones throat, we hold around 1.5 gallons, and a lot of it gets pumped through our neck in every heart beat.

jeez what do you do for a living?
