Disappointed! This guy was right about KC:D all along

Actually, it is for me. I waited patiently for the save-game mod-fix. Once it was released and after some time waiting for it to be better, I happily purchased the base game. Now I can play one hour to thirty minute stints and save my game anytime. Drawback is I’m only permitted ten saves, which is totally fine with me.

I never specified my issue with the game was its difficultly. Your explanation is wonderful, but sadly it doesn’t apply to me. I love this game, how hard and brutal it is. My only issue was the save game mechanics which has been addressed with mods.

Skyrim on PS3 and 360 was an absolute nightmare. way too big a game for those consoles. There were loads of people wanting their money back. Load times were horrendous and if it didn’t freeze or crash you was extremely lucky. Those were the just the problems getting in…

I didn’t have that with skyrim… I also don’t remember anyone asking for money back.

I’d have to say, i waited in line for skyrim and I’ve always known that sandbox games are buggy. So i didnt mind them. Maybe its a generation gap

Well the people who have been waiting and knew about it for a long time/helped back it knew what kind of a product to expect from a game funded by Kickstarter and one investor that is the first game to be made by the company making it, so…

Had you heard about it before launch you would have been better off, actually.

Bethesda’s name was mud at the time for quite a few people in their forums; and I sold all my copies of the game, and the consoles…PS3 and 360; coz I swore I wouldn’t be ripped off ever again. So now I have XB One X (and a very early 20GB 360) and a PS4 HDR and PSVR with Skyrim Special Edition, ESO & Morrowind DLC, Skyrim VR. Coz when I was sat there twiddling my fingers I thought how premature I’d been. I just don’t buy games now until after a couple of patches and once the release price has gone down. Though if I do buy it on first release I expect some rough edges coz it’s software and it’s behaviour cannot be predicted on every single variant of PC and console. I bought KCD on its release mind. If it gets bad like Skyrim was I’ll just put it to one side for a while like I did with Skyrim.

Games releases always polarize people.

I think expectation can apply to any generation

Yeah, ot helps to understand why someone has different expectations. For instance i grew up when a game was released, it was final. No fixing that. And ive seen a lot of changes.

Yea but they were usually working as intended

Not always true. Kcd for the vast majority works as intended, but when you hit a game breaking bug, it can ruin or lose lots of hours.

I have a skyrim character still stuck in the midden dark and that bug will never be fixed. Do to the limited replay ability, before mods were added, i had no desire to restart a female character. She is rotting in video game hell

Cant compare those old cartidge games to anything today. Kb and miniscule Mb games compared to 20 something Gb games? And other games today some are pushing the 100gb threshhold with 4k and dlc downloads. Anything from years ago was simple. Take anything 30 years ago and compare it to the simaler thing today. My first desktop had a big hard drive, 12 gb. That was as big as you could get at the time. Your ipod has 10x that now in the palm of your hand. There isnt one thing, be it a game, or a car or something in your life today in 2018 that doesnt have problems or issues. If your looking for perfection ,heres a tip,it isnt anywhere to be found.

The Witcher 3 had a rough start too and see where the game is now. It’s GOTY and one of the most badass RPG out there. I’ve preordered the game and was playing it from day 1, experiencing all the bugs of the release state, but it was obvious that the game is gorgeous and will be eventually polished, because the devs are really passionate about it. You can’t just say - it has bugs, so it sucks - you have to look through this. Did Witcher 3 had huge potential despite the bugs at the release? Yes, it did! Do KCD has huge a potential despite the bugs? Hell yeah! Did ME:A? Before release? — Maybe. But after it I could see ащк a mile that this game doesn’t have future, it’s rotten to the core. KCD is nowhere near that state, so quit this apocaliptic nonsence.
