Dog companion kind

What kind of dog are You supposed to create in the game? (if we reach 1M of course… )
Will it be some hound (hunting dog) or some “mixture”, or my favourite czech kind “Cesky fousek”, which is historical proven(or its ancestor) back in 14th century…?

Thank You

+1 for fousek
I wonder how difficult it would be to allow you to choose the kind, provided that they all act the same and have the same impact on the game.

Hunting dogs needed training which means they were expensive. I think we are likely to get some kind of stray or one as a gift, maybe we even get to teach the dog some tricks ourselves

Cesky fousek would be good

I think a Shibe or Shiba Inu, would be nice with a Medieval Armor :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d prefer something like an english mastiff. I don’t know if they existed in bohemia though.

I really hope the developer will take some time to implement the dog companion properly.
I’d like to go hunting with the dog f.e. and use him as a guard to to guard the perimeter if you sleep in the outskirts(dunno if thats possible)/ or guard my tankard full of fresh ale. And I’d like to be able to give commands to the dog like stay back, attack and so on depending on the situation. I dont want the dog to attack every threat we encounter.
He should be able to scent threats and warn the player. But he should also behave. (maybe we could train him somehow) Maybe some gimmicks where the dogs snaps at the hand of a fair maiden or ruins her dress because he was swimming in the lake and shook himself dry while he was standing next to the wench. And you’d have to talk you way out of the situation or do what a gleeman does and turn tail and run in case an angry husband/father appears. So many possibilities. If you have to eat for yourself to survive you should have to feed the dog as well. OMG so much to do =)

@MigzPT I like doge as well but i dont want to see him ingame. Thats sth for the modder scene.

@SirNikodemus I know, that would make the game Unrealistic :stuck_out_tongue:

It was just an “example” however a labrador would be a type of dog I would like to see in the Game

Hmm.

I created a similar post to this one not long after this was created and the forum never suggested it to me! or was it? Everything on that post states it was created at same time in fact I believe mine was made first this will explain why this one was never suggested!

Oh well lets create multiple posts for everything!

Central Asian Shepherd … Caucassian Shepherd etc.

These breeds exist long time ago. But if exists in Bohemia in these times ? Who know ? =0)

I would like to have big strong hunting/war dog like those ,used by Roman empire: Neapolitan mastiff or lighter Cane Corso. Doge or more winterproof central asian shepherd would be great too. If it will be historically correct.

To be honest, I do not want to see the dog companion being overpowered (as many have voiced), or having a health pool higher than any other animal in the world. Maybe the possibility of getting another dog would sound great (if your dog dies or you lose it somehow).

I think that some kind of domesticated wolf will be great. I believe, it’s called Eurasian wolf.
Oh, and congrats !!

I would love to have Irish wolfhound, or Mastiff, since they are almost the odlest dog races still living. Woulfhound would be great

A czechoslovakian wolf or something similar would be great

Yeah, but they were created in 20th
century .)

so something similar…not necessarily a specific breed. A wild stray similar to a wolf that is found and grown up by the protagonist

Fousek looks nice

I would really like to see Alaunt, just because they were common, but extinct looong time ago. It would be interesting. And it would give devs some freedom in creativity.

In the end every damn game has shephard or something well known. Let’s have something special and rare just from middle ages.
