E3 news From the Ashes/Hardcore mode

I have been wondering what the economy is based on. It is far away from the Skalitz silver mines and even if there is silver in those hills too, you can see from the skalitz counryside that it takes a huge operation to process it. It isn’t on any major roads, so it wouldn’t be a trade hub. As you pointed out, there is nowhere to farm.

They did say that you can generate a positive income though. Maybe henry opens a ‘slightly used’ cuman armor store?

How about opening a casino?
Any Indians in the area?
We have a lot of Indian casinos in the US, in states where Gamling is still illegal, but not on reservations.

Lumber would be a plentiful resource…beyond that, skilled labor/goods?

Slash and burn. Being highland the soil productivity won’t be long lasting… without being fortified with manure. I’m sure Cuman could be persuaded to leave nightsoil too. Beyond that, Pribyslavitz is under Talmberg so don’t have to be self sufficient in food.

Crafts and trade goods would be one way to gain $$. Not sure if soil and sun are right but Sasau has a vineyard.

Yes. Sawmill.
Did they have them back then or was it done all by hand?

Water-powered sawmills were quite widely used since 14th century.

I must be in the minority, but I’m not overly excited by “From the Ashes”. It seems like a lot of micro-management not unlike Fallout 4’s settlements and not much new content story wise. Money sink aspect is nice, other than that I’m afraid managing the settlement might quickly get tiring.

I won’t see the videos, because I’ve read that contains some spoilers. Can anyone with a high spirit say when it will come (hardcore mode, this “from the ashes” Dlc)??

Soon after E3, hardcore mode will come first, DLC after several days later.

Does raise 1 major question about the DLC…well 2 actually. First is does this fit into game at the end or middle. And if it’s the end does that mean talmburg is rebuilt? Because it seems a little silly if your rebuilding a village for a Lord who’s home castle and main city is destroyed…pretty sure if it’s in middle of the game the Lord would have halted completion of your town until his castle and home was rebuilt

Talmberg is not rebuilt I think and WH said in an interview that the DLC is best played along the main quests, not after the ending. But of course both options are possible.

I saw that interview but to be honest I thought the reason he said that was because there’s less of a chance in messing up your save if you start a new campaign. Remember a patch is expected to be released just before the DLC and kcd have never really worked amazingly when you continue a story you started on a old patch after installing a new one

So that really doesn’t seem correct then. Because this means you will have to really grind for money between the fall of the camp and the attack on talmburg.

And when the E3 will end?

E3 ends today so hoping they will announce release date soon

@Crawleyboy01 per Tobi, that’s to be expected. hardcore first, then ashes shortly thereafter. and per an earlier take by @DrFusselpulli , ashes will roll out with 1.6

I think it would make the story a little more neat and tidy it it was rebuilt. It
really wasn’t damaged that much.

Agreed…won’t rebuild a few burnt buildings and a broken defence wall but quite happy to build a complete working village including mill church and rattas from scratch.

musta been rotten shots if only that much was done after 2 days.
