I Hate to be a Fart But

I think this game is too much. The $60 asking price for a game that promised 3 acts but couldn’t make it so instead is going to release a third act for an unspecified amount 9-12 months down the track seems a bit ridiculous.

Not to mention features in the game like a female character, dog companion and blacksmithing being released as DLC potentially after I’m done with the game, which were promised from backers going over the goal and I think should be free DLC because of that, not paid.

I think I’m gonna wait for a sale, I’m worried about not getting my moneys worth and I really don’t think we should have to pay for a third act, a female character, a damn dog and blacksmithing (you are a blacksmiths son for Gods sake!)

I don’t think in this day I’d pay $60 for a game and then have to pay extra for things that should’ve been in the game on launch compiled into one $60 package, I don’t want to pay an extra $45 for stuff that should be in the game but isn’t so I’m just gonna wait until I can get the game with DLC for $60 total.

Let’s hope if this game earns enough money we’ll see a sequel with more features.

Could I get a confirmation from a dev as to if the DLCs will be free to non backers please? And a guess as to what price act 3 will be. Anything above $15 feels like a bit much.

Then I’m guessing you think all other 60$ titles are too much? I’m not pleased with the features being cut either, but i certainly think the game is still worth the 60 dollar asking price given the amount of content already in it.

You’re acting like this game is bare bones with no content. It’s a 30 hour + story and a 16x16 kilometre map.

Yeah but you’ve got stuff like Witcher 3, Divinity Original Sin 2, Mount & Blade and even Skyrim with mods that can easily rack up more than that for half the price. Which I mean they are from bigger developers but from a business stand point and not a “I have to pay indie develoeprs” stand point. $60 for a game that can’t keep up without a dedicated modding fan base which I really hope gets going on launch so they can implement fan made features and new quest lines etc. This really isn’t worth the money. Remember this is opinion, I’m not declaring these as facts.

I also question if it will remain entertaining for that long too, a skill tree and a plot can only go so deep and this is not written by George R.R. Martin.

Skyrim and the Witcher 3 were both 60 dollars on release. And I’m willing to bet bannerlord being 60 on its release, and divinity 2 is 45 dollars despite being a beta ( the same price access to the beta was during kick starter.

You’re right, Warhorse should hire Martin, what else would we do without a rape or incest reference every 5 minutes in game?

And Witcher 3 and Skyrim both have features that this game couldn’t manage to get in to the game and it asks $60 from us. Plus an unspecified amount for its final chapter that better not be over $20 because that’s just ridiculous

And this game has features that both Skyrim and the witcher lack. And could you please explain all these features both those games have that KC:D will not?

For one Alchemy, weaponsmithing and companions. These games were released several years ago now too, this isn’t releasing in 2015 now. It makes it seem outdated.

I have to call out your bias here too since you have been visiting these forums for 1.1 thousand days, so I doubt even if I create the most convincing argument you will still dismiss it.

I just think I can’t see this game lasting through the forseeable future unless the modding community really kicks up, with RPGs that will supposedly change the whole game like Cyberpunk 2077. And whatever Bethesda is going to try and persuade my wallet with. Not to mention Bannerlord which if releasing at the same time could make this game completely disappear if it’s charging less than $60. And Deep Silver really haven’t been doing well recently with titles like Homefront: The Revolution and their most recent flop Agents of Mayhem. If this doesn’t sell enough we’ll probably see this game and it’s developers get swept under the rug before they can even get working on what they want to do.

Alchemy? Are you trolling at this point or have you not bothered to do basic research into this game? This game features an amazingly in depth (and fun) Alchemy system, that neither Skyrim, or the Witchers alchemy system holds a candle to.

So your grand total is two features that Skyrim and the Witcher have over KC:D?

Except you haven’t made a convincing argument. You’ve shown that you lack very basic information about this game, and you claim that 60$ is too much, even though other comparable games charge the same.

Deep silver came in very late to the game, I find it pretty unlikely they had much say in what the game featured content wise.

Well have you been paying attention to this game you love so much? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyWqCew1g-A

In this dev update they say that they’re abandoning the alchemy system.

Yes, those are two features that have been around since 2012 and this game couldn’t manage to fit in. If it can be compared to games that beat it to the punch 5 years ago, I doubt it’s going to be popular with a mainstream audience and the only people keeping it alive will be modders.

Time stamp please?

Deep Silver have been around since the kickstarter, I can not recall which video, but they mention going from publisher to publisher trying to get someone to pick their game up and then deep silver did, and they didn’t even have enough cash to back it that they had to make a kickstarter.

No they have not. They signed with Deep silver in 2016, the kick starter ended in 2014

First time Deep silver was ever mentioned.

Yeah, there is literally nothing in that video that would even hint at them dumping Alchemy, they even showed it during the video.

My bad, I mistook 8:40 where he mentions alchemy as being difficult for it being abandoned. It is still less in depth than The Witcher 3 however, just mentioning that as you claim it’s more in depth which it’s not. It’s just a cookbook.

If Deep Silver signed on in 2016 then who was their publisher they mention before then which helped make them the kickstarter? I can only assume it’s deep silver, because from what I know now (Not your 1.1k days of knowledge) I don’t know who it could be, give me a hand?

Could you please quit getting salty and maybe be a bit more pleasant to deal with? If the rest of the fanbase is like this well fuck me the game’s gonna be dead within weeks.

Ive played both systems. KC:D is by far more in depth, realistic, and enjoyable.

They didn’t have a publisher help them out. There was a private investor, who owns mining companies in the Czech Republic. The publishers rejected them, which is why they went to Kickstarter.

How exactly am i being salty? Ive been nothing but polite, and patient with you.

On Wikipedia: I know don’t judge me but I’m not gonna look through google for 16 hours.

It says they signed on with a “Private Investor” this could’ve been Deep Silver and they just didn’t announce it, I don’t know much about the video game development scene but that seems kind of weird. Or it’s a private investor and they switched to Deep Silver down the track.

Penning for the loremasters thoughts here.

No I’m positive it wasn’t Deep silver.

This is the private investor who put up the first million.
