Read my example on how it is not cheaper. And I can build a PC with an I3 and a 750TI which will have more raw computing power than an XBOX for about the same. It involves browsing the second hand market but it is entirely possible. You will play games with the same or more fidelity in it as well. The Xbox games are not 1080P and if you make that compromise on a PC, you can really push the graphics. In my crappy laptop which has similar GPU to a 750TI and a CPU that makes the Jaguar inside the XBOX look like the relic that it is, I can play this with 720p (same resolution of Xbox) upscaled to 1080P with Medium presets and high textures to make the game a little bit sharper. Plus, I can chose which options I want to activate on my game to make it run smoother. I wont need to upgrade that PC anytime soon if all I do is a bit of light gaming. I can also work on it, do 3D modelling browse the internet for free, and have all the PC exclusives.
To prove my point, I went on ebay and searched 750ti. This came up:

less than 50 quid for a pretty nifty GPU which leaves me around 200 quid to match the price of the XBOX 1 S. Pretty feasable.
Fuck it, I went and looked at prices for a GTX 660 (the min spec for PC which is quite a nice card with almost 1k cuda cores) and found this:
less than 20 quid. Sure the price will go up before auction ends but it is a DX11 capable GPU with close to 1k CUDA cores. It is still better than a 1050 or 1050 TI and will run this game great. That leaves me more than 200 pounds for the rest of the system!
There is no magic inside consoles, they are computers. Weak computers, but computers. Anda gain, this PC will run all games today with no problem. Sure you might need to adjust resolutions and settings but hey, you can’t do it in a console.
