Never say never! There were a team of guys who managed a LAN/Coop modification.
And maybe after a certain time passed a bunch of genius people will do some modifications to the tools.
Well, it took some time, but modding tools are officially out!

I just got confirmation from a couple sources that modding the world, or creating a new one, is possible. I’ll be restarting the project for KC:D within the next week or two, and will begin the process of looking for additional team members.
I have high-poly meshes for the following houses/units already finished (from the Attila project) and would need to simply retopo and retexture them. Most of the hard work is already finished in terms of 3d asset modeling.
- House Bolton
- House Stark
- House Karstark
- House Mormont
- House Glover
- House Cerwyn
- House Greyjoy
- House Baratheon
- House Dondarrion
- House Frey
- House Tully
- House Martell
- House Uller
- House Yronwood
- House Crakehall
- House Marbrand
- House Arryn
- White Walkers
- Unsullied
This is great news, really excited for this project. I can’t help with anything technical, but I do have some experience with creative writing and know the ASOIAF/GOT lore pretty in depth, so if later down the line you need some help with writing quests, story lines and general ideas for the game, just hit me up.
And hopefully Scheiffer Bates is still up for doing the voice acting, because that would just be awesome.
Making a ton of progress with the tools. Still in the learning and experimenting stage but it’s at least exciting to know custom models & levels can be added!
Hi man, what are some discord servers that you use for modding KCD? When this game released I was in the server for Seven Kingdoms but deleted my account and I can’t find the discord link anywhere now.
Edit: nvm, found it. https://discordapp.com/invite/pBSshaN
So glad the tools have finally dropped and you are making hedgeway with them. Really looking forward to this!
Development is coming along great so far. We post most updates to Twitter (https://twitter.com/SevenKingdomsTW) or on Discord (https://discord.gg/rUwDh7S). Here’s a first look at our level:
The twitter account got suspended? What’s up with that?
I have no idea dude. I woke up one day and it was suspended, along with my personal accounts (one private, one for work). They didn’t give me a reason or notice. I submitted several appeals but it’s been 2 weeks with no response. Joke company!
You can still join our Discord channel: https://discord.gg/pBSshaN
Hi! Im a big GoT fan and ive been enjoying your seven kingdoms mod on atilla for around 20~ hours now. After hearing that youre making a GoT mod for KCD, I was excited! Is the mod still being worked on or is it cancelled?
how’d you manage this, and could this be used to make the aventails drape over armors instead of sit under them?
I’m wondering the exact same thing. I personally think they’re very ugly under the breastplate
I personally think they’re very ugly under the breastplate
It depends on armor style but generally yeah. Conversely they probably didn’t want the physics system dealing with hanging coifs. There really should be a customizable layer system. For instance, maille should be under the jack for most situations not over it, coifs are out of date and the bascinets should have aventail alts/not let you double up when they do have aventails, stand alone jacks (the high defense ones) should probably be in the breastplate slot forcing you to wear a thinner proper arming garment under plate (this then gets into standalone plate armor getting un nerfed, being a hell of a lot rarer/expensive too), and maille voiders and skirts should be ingame. Most of the vests and jackets should go over maille but under plate because they’re far too form fitting. Meanwhile coathardies are in the maille slot so they go under breastplates when loose heraldric garments should go over. Waffenfrocks as implemented are also about a century out of date, real dagged sleeves probably absolutely raped the physics system is my guess (see:bridles). It’s all a bit of a mess and always hurts a bit inside when the split second of outfit clipping looks better than the game defined outfit.
it drapes over other armors fine, i doubt it’s “physics” related. it’s static, it’s not a ragdoll model. i think it’s something they weren’t able to reconcile with the clothing layering system. i’d be fine with it if they changed that type of aventail to a hood style object that sits over all the other armor pieces
We are making a ton of progress, most of which is posted in our Discord channel (see link a few posts above). Here are some WIP images of the Stark and Lannister units:
Not sure if its been asked (I dont feel like sifting threw all the replies) but is this going to be available on consoles or just PC?
Just PC. Don’t think it’s possible to mod console
