We NEED a female warrior Protagonist!

No evidence for Joan fighting, she led the army, and held a banner. That’s it.

She was burned for supposedly being being in league with the devil, not because people thought she was fighting.

We don’t even know if Jeanne fought in battle.

They accused her of “witchcraft” and “Satanism” because good Christian women knew they shouldn’t fight in battles (or just be in battles if she didn’t fight, which would mess with everything I know about the topic, but I’d rather not argue about it). Regardless we do agree that a female protagonist would be stupid.

No that is simply not true. She claimed to be hearing voices from god, and upon her capture a bishop known for being extremely pro English tried her.

Had nothing to do with her fighting in battle.

She was tried for witchcraft for abusing the lock-on system and sprint-attacking, cheesing the English. Trust me, I have my sources.

Yea. And this is why I see the discussion as pointless. The devs have weighed in and they made a reasonable response.

And of course there wouldn’t be. The church destroyed a lot of pagan religion’s history when they converted everyone. But, I like to be a tad more optimistic about history that is in the ‘I don’t fucking know’ area of knowledge. Sure, there is no evidence of it. But, if the evidence there can lead us down the path of decent thought and logically support the idea, I don’t see it as a horrible thing to go ‘Maaaybe there was at this point with this culture.’

I could care less about a female protagonist.

I don’t see much logic in female warriors to tell you the truth.

The only logical situation I see is in the norse/‘viking’ cultures. And even then, they valued their women for what they were pre disposed to do. Making strong warrior babies and raising the homstead while daddy raided.

But why? What specially about Norse culture makes female warriors logical?

I’ll have to get back to you on the details. I’m far from an expert on those cultures or history. It comes down to ‘mt friend who knows that shit said so one time’.

Poor arguement, I know. But, for the life of me the actualy information they gave is long gone from my memory. As we say in my circle, ‘that was many pots and many moons ago’. I will reply with the actual information once I have it.

Viking Shieldmaidens are real! Lagertha from Vikings is one of my personal heroines

I’m glad you two know what life is all about lmao what is our purpose as a species, great ones?

Maybe it would be a good idea to start the game and count all the bridges?

Sexists are derailing the coversation because theyre running out of arguments. Only proves me right.

There’s probably enough variety in the human experience to rationalize just about any historical expectionism narrative. Does that prove your point, or just prove your pushing an exceptionalism point of view?
